are getting Lamborghinis or have already gotten them. Sport we love is in fine shape. Just what football at Universities should be all about.

To follow up on that, today they had a bunch of lamborghinis out on display when

they welcomed recruits on official visits. Wonder if they had any information packets on various majors?

I guess the university pays for the maintenance/repairs if the engine and body work. Also, it doesn't sound safe.

Wasn't it Chuck Reedy who said he knew he lost Hershel Walker to UGA when he showed up to HW's house and there was a brand new Trans Am in the driveway.
Been going on for a while but it has certainly reached new heights these days.

Eric Dickerson did something interesting when he got his gold trans am.. Texas A&M bought him a gold Trans Am and he burned them, kept the car of course, and went to SMU for their cash.

Right, except the color was Aggie color maroon and he drove right through College Station/Aggieland on his way to SMU.

Could have been....i can't exactly remember who said it.
Bobby Hartin interviewed Reedy on his radio show down here in Charleston several years ago when he was HC at Goose Creek. He told some pretty cool stories about those days....thought i heard that but it's been a while.

What does the tutor who does all their homework & projects get

to keep the "students" enrolled while said students are driving around in their Lamborghini's and entertaining interested co-eds? Most tests and quizzes are online from a template so the tutors can "help" the students with these as well.

The Texas RB had a Lambo deal in '22. Now 3 or 4 players have the same Lambo deal from a local dealer. I don't see anything about the whole team?
Sidenote: entire Utah team gets a Ram 1500 if they want it, this was last year anyway.
Also, Texas paid out $15.7mil in NIL money in '23. No way average D1 schools can compete with that kind of money. Now add in the $20m annually paid by schools and its out of the league for most schools. Clemson only got $44mil from ACC for all sports for '23-24. No way can Clemson pay out almost $20mil NIL and run all the non-profit sports. This new ruling will just cause schools to shut down sports programs that just suck money.

I don’t think anyone knows what the ramifications of the new settlement will be but the hope I have heard is that the revenue sharing of TV money will reduce the impact of boosters and level things off a bit. Time will tell.

With the recent ruling, there will eventually be collective bargaining and at some point the athletes will be employees of the university. They won’t even have to be enrolled as students or to remain enrolled at that point.

And that is when empty stadium seats start showing up. I can confirm at least one.

I’ll make that bet. From what I can tell most of the people who are fussing about this the most are your older crowd. The younger crowd doesn’t care. Neither do the people watching on tv seeing as how viewership is at an all time high.

I truly understand the appeal to high school kids and I know UT has been on the rise but cmon. Does that not seem like a desperation tactic?

If a player is going to a school for the money and extra benefits, he or she is not ALL IN.
Go Tigers. We prepare our student athletes for their future and we graduate 99% of them.
We require a certain standard at Clemson That’s what makes us who we are.

I’m playing for Texas too! 18 and driving your dream car with a pocket full of cash, I’m sure my school work would have suffered.

An 18 year old in a Lamborghini……..what could possibly go wrong?
They’ll lawyer up and explain away why death from an unbelievably stupid idea is just a tragic accident that no one could have possibly foreseen.

I mean are we seriously going to have a post about a situation like this every day. It’s getting old. Get use to it or move on. The genie is not going back in the bottle. Personally I just think they are getting what they have been due for a long time. Most of them are leases anyway. So what if they drive a nice car. Op you really just come off as jealous.
