So per ACC official standings (https://theacc.com/standings.aspx?path=baseball), Clemson has 12th best winning percentage and would make the ACC but barely, right?
This week we have CCU, then a very winnable (sweepable, even?) series vs BC. A 4-0 week would be nice, 3-1 if we just have to lose. Anything worse would be nightmare. (Yes, I know CCU doesn't count towards ACC but I'm speaking from a confidence/momentum/perception view).
Duke is just below us with a very losable series next weekend. UNC & GT both have stronger foes to beat to try and stay ahead of us. So...positive thinking....we could even gain ground beyond 12th seed.
As for post-ACC play, these still showing us just outside hoping to get in: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2022-ncaa-baseball-tournament-projected-field-of-64-51122/ https://www.ncaa.com/news/baseball/article/2022-05-12/2022-mens-college-world-series-predictions-field-64
CBS, while not a fan of our football team's hopes in 2022, does have us making the field: https://www.collegesportsmadness.com/baseball/bracketology
Now, at this point, someone will inevitably comment that "we just need to stay focused and win the games in front us" blah blah blah. While technically true....for the team....its not as if I'm actually on the coaching staff or even a player and my focus has some bearing on the outcome of any play or game.

Man, I'm sorry, but even with my best pair of Orange Colored

Glasses on, I just don't see this version of us as a post season team. Not nearly enough pitching OR hitting to be beyond "one and done" type results even if we WERE to get a bid by some miracle.
With this team, I think the past IS a pretty good predictor of the future.

Yeah I'm not predicting a run to Omaha by any stretch. Just saying very feasible we make ACC. With a few breaks could even win a game, maybe 2 if Anglin can go 7 innings. Maybe? Making regionals will be tougher row to hoe. Maybe we make it in but I'm not throwing down money on it, much less making a super-regional.
I will be ecstatic to be proven wrong by this team. On the Regional/Super-Regional thing. Not about making the ACC. We all know what we're capable of.....good and bad.

I think your best pair of Orange Colored glasses may have just a hint of negativity in the middle of the lens blocking your view.
I don't know if this team will make the postseason and I certainly don't know what would happen if they did happen to get invited to regional.
On the other hand, if you are looking at how Clemson would stack up against postseason opponents then you can look at the fact that Clemson won 2 of 3 vs FSU and Wake Forest and swept GA Tech.
All 3 of those teams appear to be comfortably in regionals barring some sort of massive collapse down the stretch.
Clemson is not the most talented team and is definitely not the most consistent team, but to pretend that they haven't shown plenty of examples of being good enough to compete with postseason teams isn't a great assessment.

Just get to a Regional with SEC and/or B1G10 teams and the Tigers will do just fine.

I hope they get that chance.
As far as I would guess, this baseball team could just as easily take 2 bad losses and go 0-2 as they could win a regional.
The ceiling has shown to be fairly high, but the floor has been extremely low.

Based on RPI & straight record

we've got a tournament team. Biggest thing hurting this team is that midseason slump and the resulting ACC record. Obviously we know our pitching is inconsistent & our offense is reliant on the long ball & we struggle when the bats aren't clicking and we have to manufacture runs.
B/c of the ACC record, winning the BC series & making the ACCT is paramount to making the field of 64. If we miss out on Charlotte, there's no way the NCAA committee can't justify including us in the field of 64. If they make Charlotte, winning the pool & making semis might be enough (based on current standings, we're lining up for rematches with Miami & Pitt), making finals should get over the hump for a bid. Going 0-2 will not cut it.
