Lunge Insight Needed

As an old Boomer I have never maintained much presence on Buddy Book. Recently I posted a few pictures of my adventures and friended a few people I saw at a funeral. Updated my Bio, etc. Even got friended by Dabo. Huh?
Anyway, I recently got several requests out of the ether from seemingly younger, hawt, females. No mutual friends. Couple are from UK. I usually just ignore these requests just on general principle. But, being bored here in mid-winter I decided to accept the friend request of two of them. Started out complimenting me on some photos, yada yada. Now, one wants me to do WhatsApp so's we can get to know each other mo betta. Always the skeptic. Ain't never needed WhatsApp? What's her game? Email works fine for me. What these younger wemen want to chat my old ### up for? I am purty and all, and my pictures could be exciting I can see. But, like Ernest T. Bass said, "I don't reckon femalin' is good idea for me as long as I have a few squirrels and chipmunks staying around the house".
I understand some people having 1.2K friends and all if that's how they roll. But the idea of getting to know each other more better on WhatsApp just kind of sent up flags. Most of these young wemen don't show that many friends. That was another tell. So, Lunge what's the scam going on these days??

What ticks me off are all the old people on FB who I had as friends, who were hacked. I get a new friend request from someone who I had friended, accept, and boom a DM from out of the blue. I always ask about (fake wife name's cancer, or car problem, or some BS) and how it's going. When they respond I tell them guy's not married, has no wife with cancer/car problem/whatever, and report them.
Because you never know. Some people are hacked and set up new, legit accounts. Other people are hacked and the hackers set up fake accounts.
FB is basically dead to me except for groups, and maybe 10 people I keep up with.

That was my thoughts also. LOL, I ain't that feeble minded, yet, or that easy to scam. Especially not for money. All my monies are invested in boats, fishing equipment, guns, travel, etc. Wemens already got all the money they EVER gonna get from me! I don't mind chatting about the weather or the sad state of mankind or Clemson Footbawl but don't need any instant communications. Guess Ill have to let them down easy.

You may get a PayPal, or email about a charge, or something that appears to be from your credit card company, or whatever.
NEVER call ANY phone number from an email. Always look up the company in Google, go to their website, and call THAT number. NEVER the phone number from an email.

Yes, I work at being retired. All I really want to do is fish and explore foreign places...not foreign peoples.

I know we get out of character and forget we are grumpy old men at times but we are suppose to be the ones who abide in common sense. Just look what a young woman did to Uncle Jed.
You never can tell when one is going to spark your plug and light a fire that might break a rod or crack a cylinder head. You don't run gas in a diesel engine so I recommend you pass that pump up. Maybe find a something that won't do more damage than adding a little 2 stroke oil to your to your fuel. If I understand correctly it will up the cetane level and lube your injector pump while adding a slight bit of octane which will help your injectors remain free of carbon buildup.
BTW, I know everyone is going with synthetic oil and some are running AT fluid their power steering pumps but our engines didn't run synthetic when they gave us 300k thousand miles and even though our compression might be down by 5% we shouldn't risk the use of the newer stuff. The AT fluid back then was ok for our PS pumps but the new AT fluid has not proven to be suitable for the older pumps. It goes in fine but seems like it takes a lot of the innards of the older pumps when you change PS fluid.
It's not that I'm against the newer synthetic stuff it's just never proven to be good over the long haul.
I have two internet websites, Tigernet and Pelican Parts forums. One email for use and one for OS purposes. Stick to fishing. I know that will be my top priority when this project car is finished.

Thanks, I know there is some profound wisdom in there somewhere! I've been fairly lucky to still have my hide intact with some of the crazies I got up with. Curiosity indeed killed the cat! Only had one broken rod but it was worth it! Not so curious anymore.

The one they use most now goes like this.
Befriend an older gentleman who looks to have money. They actually have hot women they pay to make video calls to “verify” that’s who they are speaking with. They try to get you romantically interested and say you are such a great friend I will let you in on crypto leverages im killing it with.
They of course want you to get on telegram or what’s app to talk so it’s off record. Then they have you download an app for crypto that was made by the scammers. They have you deposit say $500. Pretty soon it’s $900 and you withdraw your $500 base just fine.
You both are giddy and happy, then she says why not add more? So you throw in 10k bc you are greedy. It grows to 30k so you go to withdraw. The site says you have to pay the taxes first to withdraw and that’s 7k. So you deposit that to pay the taxes and they say you have to pay a foreign transaction fee of $1000 but then you can withdraw.
If you haven’t figured out by now it’s a scam then that person is dumb. And sometimes they keep sinking money in.
The other version of this scam is just to befriend an old lonely man and have him send you a lot of money w the promise of love, marriage, and sex.but the crypto one works and sadly I’ve seen peoples grandpa or father loses millions to this.

See money nor seggs motivate me to go to much trouble at all. She would have to send tickets and reservations to her secret fishing hole. That butt though would make a quarter horse blush.
