LSU/USC, Clemson/Georgia...

#13 LSU loses to #23 USC and drops 5 spots to #18.

#14 Clemson loses to #1 Georgia and drops 11 spots to #25.

It will be very difficult for any teams not winning the ACC or Big12 to make the playoff.

Precisely!

Georgia has that #1 in front of their name for a reason.

Other thing is: it was 6-0 at the half. Far from a blow out.

Yeah, it ended that way. But, if you have ever played defense when the offense is struggling, you know how hard it is to just keep going out and stopping a quality opponent. It's hard and dang near impossible if the opponent is really talented.

This shows the BIAS clear as day to anyone not over-thinking it.

It's an early season loss. Tigers handle business the rest of the way and improve enough to not just stay on the field with Georgia; but also beat them. At least, that's how my dream goes.

Maybe I'm over thinking it then. The offense was putrid, but after having the halftime break, the defense came out and gave up a 75 yd. TD drive in 6 plays. Presumably (hopefully) we weren't tired yet. And after a decent drive that made it 13-3, we gave up another 6 play, 75 yd. TD drive that signaled a boat racing was going down.
The USC/LSU was at least competitive to the final seconds, which explains the rankings.
Besides, as Dabo loves to say, "There's nothing less important than the score at half."

What you saw after halftime luckyj® were adjustments by the UGA coaching staff.

Probably something we should look in to.

Excellent point, our defense was not good at all in the 2nd half. Gave up a lot of passing yards.
If our defense does not look like they did in the 1st half for the rest of the season, I see problems ahead.
Unless the offense quickly improves.

LSU was at least competitive with a pulse on offense. Us.... not so much.

Did you watch both games? I did, and I haven’t nothing to complain about regarding rankings.

It's typical to drop 10 spots in a blowout loss.

It will be tough sledding to regain those spots.

NCST is somewhat respectable , right ?

According to Massey ratings the lowly coots are ranked higher than the wolfpack.

It will be helpful to blow out Louisville

Don't know if that's likely.

Absolutely can not afford a loss to Miami in ACCCG if we making that far.

2 ACC teams are likely only if we have a victory or nail biter loss.

The LSU game was close and lost in the last two minutes .. The Clemson game was close, at halftime …and lost by 4 TD’s + … I didn’t get to watch the LSU game but am sure both offenses (LSU and the real USC) looked much better than ours .. though, just guessing. It’s a new week, win moving forward and it will sort itself out.
