I was in Baton Rouge the last several days and hanging out drinking a little in the local bars and i can tell you that the locals are expecting LSU to blow us out! They think we lack speed at LB and that LSU is going to expose our lbs and secondary. They kept harping on the fact that we are 0-4 against the SEC recently and that Dabo is light years behind with his style of coaching. They expect kelly to run an uptempo hurry up attack and leave us tired and out of gas early with lack of depth. They are raving about the talent upgrade on defense thru the portal they have now. hope they are wrong but we will soon see .

Yes, we lost to Georgia, Texas, and South Carolina last year, but in 2023, we beat Kentucky and South Carolina.

Definitely a chicken. Funny thing is I was sitting in Blacksburg last weekend. I was in town drinking. The locals seem to think they are going to blow out the chickens in week 1. They said the chickens QB is a glorified running back. If you can tackle him you win easy. They said without a capable Running back to ease the load it’s going to be a long year for Sellers.

Well, they barely beat you last year which illustrated how crappy both teams were. It looked like neither team was trying to win it, and if I remember correctly it was a dirty hit on the QB that ultimately lost it for you. LSU's crappy running game probably was the reason it was so close, but your inability to stop any kind of passing attack also contributed to the loss. I expect their speed will overwhelm your Southern Conference type speed this year and come out with an easy win.
It was one of the most unimaginative boring games I have ever watched. I compare it to watching two mules fighting over a turnip.

LSU fans need to consider the problem they have with their O-Line before they start counting out Clemson.
Yes, they have speedy receivers, but that benefit can be stymied by good defensive schemes mixing press man, quarters, cover-2, cloud, nickel, dime and dropping 8 into coverage with some alternate blitzing.
And of course the best way to defeat speedy receivers is with a good pass rush. If Nussmeier is on the ground, he can't throw the ball very far - and if he does, it'll be called back....  ">">">
If you look at the LSU roster on O-line they have a large number of players, but they have 10 freshmen/RS freshmen, 5 sophomores/RS sophomores, only 2 Juniors and only 1 senior (5th year).
Last year's LSU team lost both starting OGs and both starting OTs and it's not certain if the starting center will be this year's starter. So, it's possible that every OL on the starting 5 will be starting for the fist time (at least for LSU) and they're still not set on the RT spot.... in the last few days they were substituting another freshman for the freshman they hoped would be the starter.
LSU's O-line better hope they don't get their heads taken off, because I'm sure our guys know what needs to be done to get pressure on Nussmeier.
I'm dead certain Allen will let our DTs run wild with twists and stunts which should eat an inexperienced OL for breakfast and give Nussmeier nightmares.

Yes, I am.
* I think the O-line will be greatly improved by the addition of Heldt and moving Woods back inside.
* Some of last year's problems with defending the run was more related to LBs than the O-line.
* We now have 2 former LBs coaching LBs - bound to be better than 1 coach with no playing experience and no fire in the belly.
* When Ben Boulware says that the LBs have gotten better, I believe him.
* When I imagine the above against a new, inexperienced OL, I get real interested in seeing what damage our guys can do to wreck LSU's offense. It just might be a carnage.... ">

Back on LSU's board (Tiger Rant) we call LSU fans like Columbia Rantards. Folks like them cannot see past their fandom and think their team can do no wrong and everyone is beneath them. All issues are always fixed in the offseason and the team will always be 2001 Miami good.

2 and 3 in the last five. Lost to Texas, your dirt peckers and Leg humpers last year. Beat Kentucky and your Dirtpeckers the year before. If you go back further it’s a little worse. I honestly don’t think dirtpeckers count as a d1 team or human beings for that matter (unfortunately have some in my own family). But the ncaa says they are and the sec logo is on the field in the cockroach.

Outside of drunk talk, I don’t know a single LSU is expecting us to blow out Clemson. Most of us are just hoping we can break the season opening loss curse and walk out with a win. Lots are disappointed with the low number of tickets available. Everyone is excited for the return of CFB!

I doubt that LSU's O line would be able to sustain itself through a tempo game with our d line pounding them all night. And they are going to get a slap in the face when they see this years secondary. Not to mention or Offense is stronger and more experienced since last year.

Sammy Brown ran a 10.8s 100m in highschool. Elite speed for his size. We have speed at LB. So they are wrong there.
You have a point with looking bad against good competition last season. I’m in wait and see mode and holding my optimism until after the LSU game. I could easily see them winning by multiple scores. Winning a big game has eluded Cade and this team for several years.
