The low or cut blocking seemed very effective by their OL. Can someone explain the theory behind that particular kind of blocking technique.

It should be illegal. They protect the quarterback. They should do the same for defensive lineman.

BV had us dominate GT when they ran triple option and cut us. You line up farther off the ball. Just push them down when they cut.

Or step on their necks as you go over them.

They didn’t do it every play though which makes me think it had something to do with the play that was called. On TV the announcer said it helped on the quick three step drop back and quick passes. Very effective.

I could be wrong but

It looked like they were trying to run a middle screen or a quick drag across the middle. It only worked one or two times, the rest they got called for false start.

Whether it should be illegal or not is irrelevant. The troubling thing is that Goodwin never made an adjustment to it.

Capeheart got hurt on a chop block. he was involved with one blocker, and another went for his knees.

Both of the players went low. It was not a chop block. I didn't like it but it was not illegal.

It's so you don't get a pass knocked down especially when throwing a short pass, db's and lbs were so far off the ball that the only way to stop a slant would be the DL knocking it down.

Personally I think they should've overloaded the LoS and heated up the QB.

really quite simple: when the OL goes low like that, you jump up and then land on their spine, step on their hands or knee them in the head. After a few rounds of OL being carted off, this madness should stop.

This was my thought during and after the game. This choir boy mentality from Clemson players is hard to stomach. They punched us in the face, took out some of our players , and the response was nothing! Win ir lose last night we should have responded with aggression. This coaching staff doesn't have it in themselves to get it to the players. We are so busy preaching loyalty, wisdom, maturity, becoming a good person, blah blah blah. Stand up and defend your team. You got bit$$#@! slapped on your home field at night, and our qb says "oh we are angry now"? Well, sunshine now is too late. Barring a collapse by another team (if you don't get your choir boy tails beat 2 or 3 more times) this team will be just like last year. Playing in some meaningless bowl and talking about what you're gonna do next year!!

If The commentators were correct that was their 3rd and 4th string OL. What an Embarrassment!
