How? Whether Green or Kearse goes 1st, it doesn't determine their futures in the league.

bc initially Green had a draft grade a few rounds lower than Kearse.
The later you go the less money. Pretty simple....

People outplay rookie contracts every year. If he plays up to his potential, his second deal will be tremendous.

He left for the opportunity to provide for his daughter/family. Which he will still be able to do.

I think he was gone no matter what. He knew he had the talent to play at the next level already. I believe he will be gone by the end of the 3rd round atleast. Most people would choose 100,000 over nothing.

I would rather have several hundred thousand more if all I had to do was play college FB one more season with my livelihood paid for, I would dedicate that season getting stronger with adding more experience. If I had already done 3 years, and I know one more year means a bigger better pay day bc I would become a more polished player, I'm staying... Now these are my thoughts of a much older, wiser, and a way more patient man, and it's easy for me to look back and say what would have been the best for me to have done if those were my choices. But, would I have taken the earlier lesser money running off to the draft at 20 years old. I probably would have chosen the draft as a junior, and it would have been a mistake. That is why I'm for an NCAA rules change that once a college player accepts a scholarship to play college sports, pro sport teams can not allow them to enter their draft selection until after their senior year. I honestly believe that it would be the best thing for all student athletes chasing a pro sport career. Being a college student athlete at 18, 19, 20 years old, the lure of pro sport money is just to hard for young men at that age to turn down. Top HS athletes are graduating HS knowing they will only be in college for 3 years. They are no longer student athletes, they are athletes that has to use college scholarship money in order to get the college FB training before the NFL will give them a look or a chance to enter their draft. And the NFL only uses the cream of the crop, and all juniors lose their chance to ever play college FB again. Stop allowing juniors to risk their paid for college education in order to get picked over by professional FB. Only like 3% of seniors and juniors get drafted, with the most of that 3% being seniors. Stop the madness of wasting billions in cash for the NFL to only pick over 1% of the juniors that couldn't resist the lure of NFL money, and they lose their scholarship money and their choice to ever play college athletic sports again. No juniors allowed in the NFL draft, and if they do, make them pay the same as a college scholarship pays for them to finish their college degree....

Pretty sure whatever the 3rd or 4th round picks get is more than what he would be making a Clemson. He left for a reason it's his time to go pro. Idc what scouts say I have watched every game him and TJ have played at Clemson and JK is ten times better IMO!!

If I recall correctly he got a 2nd round grade. However, throughout the early part of the season most had him as a 1st round talent....
Had he stayed another year and played consistently like he "flashed" in the past he's a 1st round lock.

He could be a first round lock if he had come back and Anon is not whining about anything from what I see. I see him battling with people that don't want to give him credit for being right about the subject line.
Jayron left because he thought he was a first or second rounder and Anon is saying based on the combine results this far he may not be. Again the operative word is "MAY" meaning might not.
You said there are no guarantees, but I can tell you last year Vic Beasly was a guaranteed first rounder.

There are no guarantees with the draft and I gave examples of multiple players over different drafts that were considered locks or guarantees. Two of the guys I mentioned (Spiller & Beasly) increased their stock by coming back for their senior year.

where did I say you can't increase your stock by coming back

now you're just reaching...I will say it one more time, try moving your mouth when you read it this time...I was referring to Jayron, the ONLY player we were talking about...He was NOT a guaranteed 1st round lock if he came back

I'm just not the type to try and prove a point that can't be proven like you are. I for one believe he would most definitely be a lock in the first two rounds of the draft next year with another years experience similar to what happened with Beasly and Spiller. I'm not sure how you can say he couldn't be.
We will just have to agree that I am right and you are wrong.

In no way shape or form does your OP have any ounce of whining. It is a clear opinion that Jayron "May" have made a bad choice. May being the operative word meaning possibly, not definitely.

The NFL league minimum for rookies last season was $435,000 per year.
In short, if you can't live comfortably off a salary like that, you need help with more in life than mathematics. The average salary for a teacher is $47,000. The average salary for an anesthesiologist is around $325,000 after 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, 3 years of residency and 2-3 years of fellowships thereafter. Even with multi-million-dollar malpractice insurance premiums, I've yet to meet a broke anesthesiologist. He'll be fine.

His family will be living the life and not having to be broke for another year. I would leave if I were in his shoes most likely.

Thanks for that! That's ridiculous they get paid that much more but we put that money into the NFL as Americans.

How much does he have left after his Players Union Dues and

agent fees?
The other thing to consider is that money is available for 3/4th rounders as long as they play but it is not guaranteed. 1st round and some 2nd rounders get guaranteed money that is a sum that could last forever if managed properly. I hope his health stays well and he has a long career.

"In short, if you can't live comfortably off a salary like that"
Problem with your thinking is that Salary doenst last for very many years for a lot of these guys.
Your comparison is idiotic. The anesthesiologist is going to be making that amount of money for long after the Football player is no longer making that much money.

If you are good enough you will be in the league for 10 + years! If an anesthesiologist sucks or gets something wrong with them where they can't do their job I bet they don't keep their job either.

Please do us the favor of looking up how many players in the NFL wind up playing for 10+ years. The average career of an NFL'er is around 4 to 7 if my memory serves me correctly.

Listen, no one told him to leave early, right? He left on his own accord. But considering the average teacher will have to work a decade to make what a rookie will make in one year sitting on the sidelines? Forgive me if my small violin isn't loud enough for you. And considering an anesthesiologist doesn't make his first real check until he/she is 35 years old, your considerably rude argument also doesn't hold much weight in my opinion. Add in his/her malpractice insurance, loans for undergrad & med school and tell me who has the better gig... The athlete with the gratis bachelor's degree making $435,000 on the sidelines getting paid to "work" one day a week for 3 hours and do what he loves the rest of the week or the anesthesiologist dealing with life / death decisions 45 weeks a year.
Sorry if you missed the larger point I was trying to make... The last person that will have to worry about monetary issues is an athlete in the NFL, regardless of where they fall in the draft. And feeling sorry for someone who leaves school early to make money most of us will never see for doing what he loves? Boo hoo.

gonna say there's no guarantee we would've seen anything better out of Kearse next season. Sometimes it's just time for guys to move on.

If any scout thinks Green is better they are in for a hurtin. I would bet all I got on Kearse having the better career.

If you only looked at film from 2015, I'd take Green over Kearse all day. Green's mistakes were from inexperience. That will be corrected.

My perception is that Jayron took most of the year off to protect himself. And I'm not convinced that the NFL cares based on what Clowney did. He went #1 in the draft and the entire universe knew he took the year off. JK will be fine. I would have made the same decision if I were in that situation. Not even a second thought. Anyone that doesn't think JK is the real deal has blinders on. He might possibly be the steal of the draft though if everyone thinks he can't play very well.
