We are moving to a 2 league Championship playoff system and if you aren't in the B1G or SEC, you aren't getting in. It's not IF it's WHEN.

Then I agree. Next year won't eliminate all subjectivity, but at least conference champs are automatic, as they should be. That is a huge step.

it will still be the SEC/Big 10 show.
Someone put up what next years would be going by this years ranking and (assuming you count Texas as SEC since they will be next year) 10 of 12 were SEC/Big 10.
I don't think it's healthy for the long term success of the sport to be the 'Two Conference Invitational'. It was thought 4 was better than 2, and now the thought is 12 will be better than 4... I'm less than convinced.

Starting next year, the top 6 highest rated conference champs would be automatic. That would guarantee FSU being in this year, and at least 4 non-SEC/B1G teams. Like I said, not perfect, but much better. I wouldn't mind a 2 or 3 team max from any one conference.

Its not about that. I could see a 10-2 Clemson being left out i. Favor of a 9-3 Ole Miss at this point.

You do realize that if the 12 team playoff was this year that 10 of the 12 would be SEC/B1G teams??? Only FSU and Liberty are non-SEC/B1G.

That's not a good argument, because when Texas and Washington are playing in the SEC/Big Ten, either try or other conference teams get more losses.

The only thing that fixes this is all conference champions are combined with at large bids (you know, in case ND ever becomes good again) to round out the 12 teams and then seed them. Puts most of it back on the field and subjectivity goes out the window. You want in? Then win your conference championship!
