QB coach Brandon Streeter says that they never discussed looking at the transfer portal for a QB. He said that they feel good about the five guys they have. He said they might have mentioned it a few times in passing, but that it was never a serious discussion and they never contacted anyone.

QB coach Brandson Streeter said he thinks QB Taisun Phommachanh will be back sooner rather than later, and he wouldn't be shocked if he's back at some point this season. Streeter said that Phommachanh has been progressing faster than anyone expected. They won't rush him, but he thinks he has a chance to play this year

Tony Elliott interview highlights:
-- Davis is one of his favorite players on the team. Works hard and always early to meetings.
-- TE Sage catching everyones eye.
-- TE Jake Briningstool sky is the limit for him. Hit a home run with him.
-- TE J. Lay needs to fall in love with blocking so he can do the things he loves.
-- Braden Galloway is quick twitch fluid athlete.
-- TE Allen is the standard of what you are looking for at the point of attack.
-- Justyn Ross looks great and optimistic on him. Coach Swinney will have more.
-- Regardless what happens in his football life, Ross is going to be successful.
-- Will Taylor will be a QB his first year and transition to receiver down the road.
-- You do have some confidence since DJU has played 2 games but you still have to stress him and press him in practice.
-- Not going to see everything you are going to see in 2 games
-- Optimistic on Taisun. Working hard. Feel like could get him back at some point this season.

Streeter said he is trying to make sure QB DJ Uiagalelei isn't too nice.
"He's such a nice guy. Everybody loves this kid and he just needs to be demanding. That's another thing. He has to hold himself, accountable first, which he's done a good job o,f and then he needs to hold this team accountable and that's hard to do when you're such a nice guy. It's hard. You don't want to step on toes. So I've challenged him in that part of his leadership, of holding guys accountable and really stepping up in that department."

Spiller on Will Shipley: Sometimes, with a 5-star guy, they come in with high expectations; they want something handed to them.
Shipley is the opposite of that.

Brent Venables: We got to become a more physical defense. Definitely has been a point of emphasis.
Venables on Justin Foster: Haven’t seen him on the field in a year and a half but from the weight room ,he is setting personal records and meeting all his conditioning numbers.

Dabo Swinney talking at Clemson Media Day now. (Quick notes)
-- Going to get Taisun back sooner rather than later. Definitely, before the season is over.
-- Defensively, it's been a couple of years I could say we have had this depth and experience.
-- Five guys at DEs consider starters.
-- DE Ruke is right there. He battled through injuries last year.
-- Team on paper has a chance to compete for the league (title).
-- 22 former players on staff currently at Clemson.
-- Kavell Conner is back getting his master's degree.
-- Tajh Boyd is not an official guy yet but hopes to announce something soon.
-- Artavis Scott turned down a pro career to work at Clemson and start the next phase of his life.
-- Not 100% vaccinated. Wish I could say we were but we are in a good spot.
-- Isaiah Battle is coming back and will graduate in the Tiger Trust program.
-- Not quite where we need to be but I think we will get there
-- Justyn Ross is doing great. Hopefully next here in the next day or so will have the process complete with legal and so forth.
-- We are at the finish line and very optimistic (Ross). Hopeful we will be able to get back out there and do what he loves
-- Will Taylor: Super excited. This is a really good player. Eventually long term he will be a slot and returner. Just a dynamic guy. He can do it. He could play his whole career at QB. Will is a guy who three years from now you need a QB, he could play QB.
