The price of opposing Trump

An arsonist set fire to the PA governor mansion on the first night of Passover. Maybe it's just some random anti-Semite, but really smells like a Trump cultist.

I am not sure if it is true, but supposedly righties haven't figured out how to make fire yet.

They haven't figured out how to do it with one hand yet. And that other hand is always occupied.

Link that this has anything to do with Trump?

Yeah, the Trump crowd has the monopoly on antisemitism. The Ivy League Trump following students just can’t stop all their antisemitic acts and Trump himself obviously hates Israel and his son in law.

The arsonist may be a right winger, Neo Nazi or then again based on the current environment may well be a lefty or just a confused crazy.

It’s best to assume the political leanings of a criminal instead of letting the facts come to light?

It's dangerous to conflate mostly legitimate protests against Israeli war crimes with anti-Semitic attacks carried out by Trumpers or other like-minded right-wing extremists, like Charlottesville and the Tree of Life. Look at pictures from Jan 6 and see if you can spot any anti-Semitic signs and shirts. If you don't spot a lot of them, you are blind. So many undereducated morons just can't get past the "criticism of Israel is anti-Semitism" false trope.

Sure there are anti-Semites on the right, but there have also been a lot of anti-Semitic acts of aggression against Jewish students that have zero to do with Israel, but everything to do with these kids being Jewish.

It’s fine to protest the Israeli government’s actions. It is fine to support Palestinians. It is not fine to support Hamas or Intifada.

The bottom line is you don’t have a clue behind the motivations of the arsonist. You may be correct in assuming it’s a right winger, but you may just as well be wrong.

There are more than a few lefty protestors spewing hate and threats and there’s nothing legitimate about that.

Back to the Masters, but it’s irresponsible to assume anything at this point regarding the individual(s) behind this crime.

I am interested if you have any facts to share tomorrow.

"Maybe it's just some random anti-Semite, but really smells like a Trump cultist." That's what I originally said. My opinion is that it's either a Trumper of some flavor, a random anti-Semite, or some a drunken combination of the two. It did happen after last call.

As for the Intifada, you may not realize what it means. It means an uprising, not necessarily a violent one. Each intifada has been a result of Israeli human rights abuses, particularly when Likud (the original terrorists in the Middle East as the Irgun) is in power. They don't just happen without cause. The intifadas have primarily been work strikes, riots, and protests from the populace with some violence and murder by the IDF on protestors and some attacks, bombings, and murder on the IDF and Israeli civilians by terrorists. A lot of people throwing rocks were shot dead. Now to be fair, a good friend who fought in the 72 war and served during the first intifada once told me how big the rocks are.

As official US policy, we support the rights of oppressed and occupied persons to resist their occupation. We signed and ratified a UN resolution to that point. We just don't follow it with respect to Israel. It probably goes right past you and a lot of your fellow travelers, but there were a lot of American Jewish people who participated in the pro-Palestine/anti-war protests. There's a real schism on the horizon for the US Jewish population between the traditional proponents of human rights who support of a two-state solution, represented by the 80% of Jews who vote for Democrats, and the hard-line, no-matter-what Israel supporters, represented by emigres from Russia and Eastern Europe and their children. It's happened in Israel, where the population swelled with people from the eastern bloc after the wall fell. They are usually the most militant of the settlers. There was a chance for a free Palestine before the population changed so much, but there's really not much of a chance now.

On facebook he had bad things to say about Biden and Biden supporters, but his history during the 2016, 2020, and 2024 elections and the insurrection aftermath is either hidden or deleted, so I can’t tell if he was a real Trumper. From the aggregate he looks to me like a former Bernie Bro (with no direct evidence) and minor conspiracy theorist who would be vulnerable like most of his kind to Trump, but I can’t tell for certain.

The attempted murder had posted online about being a registered socialist and his other online posting history going back to at least 2019 is 100% the same Dem kook talking points we see on here every day from left wing trash. The board weirdos swing and miss yet again in their desperate attempt to blame left wing crime on Republicans. This story will die quickly in the media since it's one of their own, but just imagine the hysteria if a MAGA type HAD actually done something like this. We have scum on this very board who automatically assumed it was a Pub based on nothing whatsoever. How many fires have lefties started since 2020 compared to Republicans? Time to crawl back under your rocks and hope for some more of that never actually happening right wing violence.
