Lindy's is usually a respected football guide

This year they have five (5) SEC teams in the playoffs. 5

And only FSU from the ACC

I can understand being heavy on the SEC but good gracious , 5. Ridiculous

Wait and see, there will be at least one SEC team with 3 losses that makes the playoff, the tough conference schedule drum is already beating.

Not surprising...Probably half of the SEC teams will be ranked in the top 10

to start the season. They'll play each other and never really drift down the rankings...a loss just means more in the eSECpn conference.

In reality they are saying 3 SEC teams plus OU and Texas who would likely make the playoffs out of the Big 12. In a few years mediocrity will settle in over that conference and only 3 will make it.

Exactly. But they have expanded the SECs number of reasonable playoff participants. If it was still the same old same old with an expanded playoff the SEC would get three and occasionally four teams in. Not 5, not ever.

They added two title contenders while we add Cal , Stanford and SMU.

The difference couldn't be more stark.

But nearly half the field from one conference is ridiculous

The only thing keeping the Big 10 or SEC from grabbing 5 spots will be Notre Dame. The Big 12 and ACC will be one bid leagues as well as the pity group of 5 spot.

an ACC magazine why would they include more than one team (which by rules has to be included)? They only do the SEC and Big 10 now at the conference level.

There were 5 current SEC teams in the top 12 at the end last year all with 2 losses or less so I don't see this as some sort of surprise.

Unsurprising yes

I'm only noting the disparity between the SEC and ACC that was already notable has actually grown larger.

It highlights our need to leave the ACC if it weren't already obvious for some.
