Yes or No. Will Dabo fire Wes?
I say no (even though I think he should).

I’m really not sure but he DEFINITELY should. I just don’t know if he’ll do it. Maybe Wes will volunteer to step down after their inevitable conversation about how the season went.

Hater of what? Poor LB coaching? Poor defensive playcalling? Poor effort to make adjustments?
If so then yes I reckon I’m a hater

Dabo is not gonna fire Porky but instead give him another year, IMO!
But, at least put him uP in the Bird perch so to give him better vision and put assistant with fire in his belly on the sidelines.

The defense has exponentially gotten worse every year he has been in charge. Give him one more year, and we may be last in most statistical categories. I don’t see a path for him keeping his job even if Dabo wants him to stay.

No, he should never have even been considered for the job with his absolute lack of coaching experience.

I still believe the only reason he became DC is because BV wanted him and Dabo decided to do what it would take to keep that from happening.

Should have let him go. He's great for a big 12 defense.

Everyone said Streeter was back. Everyone said Austin was back.
Don't ever believe that you know what Dabo is going to do. Dude is competitive as any coach out there. He thought he had a formula of family coaches but that will change as needed. He will change as needed but he will get DEF fixed.

I'm not worried about him.
The elephant in the room is that god y portal and if we're being honest...It's about to hit us hard.

Wrong. Portal is not the problem.
We just hit the portal for some really great additions to the team.
The problem here is coaching and fundamentals. We have the talent to play with anybody. We need better coaching.

No, I understood your point.
I’m saying that we can use the portal as well as anyone else. Can we feed it also? Sure, but if the portal is anyone’s game, we showed we can use it too.
My main point is that, as it stands right now, we don’t really even NEED the portal. For a couple positions, yes, but overall it’s not needed. We have the talent here already.
What we do not have is the proper coaching.

I think so yes.
A few thoughts: Don’t blame Wes for accepting the job. Very tough act following BV Our recruiting/Talent acquisitionhas precipitously fallen off. Again, there are coaching issues and we have to fix that. But we better improve our talented depth across-the-board on defense If we want to be elite again on defense Mixing a young, inexperienced DC with lessening talented depth Is no recipe for success Like Luke, better go out there and hire the very best available

I see people worried bc of his comment of “winning the league, making playoffs, etc.”
He fired Streeter following the season we won the ACC and lost to Tennessee in the bowl game.
So to answer your question, yes. I think he will. He was just being coy because he didn’t want to show his hand before having the chance to sit down with Goodwin and do it face to face. He has a personal relationship with Goodwin, outside the realm of football, and would want to give him the service of having a conversation privately before going public with it.

I think he will. There's no way around it or to defend it. Defense hasn't been able to shut down anyone all year long.

I would hope so, but who?

we have gotten worse under Goodwin 3 consecutive years. We had a real shot to win had we shut down their run game. That was far and away the best offensive performance Texas saw all year, and they owned the clock and limited our possesions. I hate to see such a great offensive performance go to waiste. They had 7 TD's passes thrown on them all year, Cade got 3 of them.
He will undoubtedly enter next season as a Heisman frontrunner, he has not hit his ceiling yet, and showed continued improvement With the receivers we have coming back, I see another monster year for him. I am seriously worried about what we have coming back on our front seven unless we hit the Portal hard. Goodwin will have gis work cut out for him because he will be given another year.

I don't know what Dabo will do but my gut tells me if you live around Clemson and Goodwin owes you money, you better collect it in the next few days.
Either way, hire a dayum LB coach with playing and coaching experience!
