I want to start the narrative that he’s the worst hire Dabo has ever made. Keep in mind, we had just sent these DEs to the NFL in the decade prior to his hire: Phillip Merling, Ricky Sapp, Da’Quan Bowers, Andre Branch, Malliciah Goodman, Vic Beasley, Shaq Lawson, Kevin Dodd.
He also inherited a room with Clelin Ferrell, Austin Bryant, Xavier Thomas, KJ Henry and Justin Mascoll. All 4 and 5 stars already on the roster.
These are Lemanski Hall’s recruits.

Hall is definitely on the list. Wouldn’t say his is at the top. Pork Chop is at the top of that list in my opinion. Followed by Spiller, Grisham, Conn then Hall.

I don’t know. We were producing great DEs to the NFL every year. Hall recruited only 2 NFL DEs in 7 years.
He took a great room, strength of the defense, and turned them into a liability.

The entire point of that hire was to enrich with Clemson dollars another Bama buddy from the 1992 team Dabo was on. Not to get big time recruits. In other words, it was a very successful hire.

I think we're just splitting hairs between the two. Recruiting at the position has dropped, and player development, like DE, has fallen off the charts. Top 10 Tiger football player, but I think at this point, after a few years of coaching, it needs to be left at that.

see Davidson in the first quarter against LSU because he's a Spiller hit or is it wait to see Davidson in the 4th quarter in week 2 running amuck vs Troy for his first appearance, while Spiller's bevy of poor recruiting and development gets demolished vs LSU. James Davis was a stud in his first game vs A&M that year, but we've been very cautious to action many players that quick since, and now with redshirts, the NFL and the portal, play your players now, because it could all be gone in a jiffy.

Just wondering. Could Reed coach both DB'S and Safeties? Could Eason coach both DTs and DEs? If so could we then hire a true special teams coach and a true LB'S coach? Then go get a true DC and let him concentrate on correcting our defense and not have to worry about coaching a position.

I normally respect your insight, but you’re probably mistaken here. Lemanski…
1. Never played on the defensive line his entire football career.
2. Was a volunteer high school coach at Centennial in Franklin TN.
3. Was a high school S&C coach at Christ Presbyterian in Nashville TN.
4. Interned for the NFLs Tennessee Titans via a diversity program.
5. Was a high school LB and fitness instructor at Ensworth in Nashville TN.
6. Was Dabo’s buddy.
My assumption is that #1-5 made him qualified for the position, and #6 was just icing on the cake.

Agreed but I believe it is a little too early to put Darien Mayo and Lawson on that list. Mayo is still a pup and Lawson did flash this year. Sometimes the transformation doesn’t happen overnight. Kevin Dodd is an example of this.
