Lee Corso comments to me this morning

I was asking Lee about the matchup, and he had some interesting things to say about Georgia. I am going to post them in a story coming up shortly, but here is what he says about the Dawgs when we asked him the difference between the two teams.
"Georgia’s defense. I said last week on the show that I don’t think Georgia is a top ten team," Corso said. "I don’t think they deserve it. I think they are overrated in the preseason. The reason is defensively. They bring three defensive guys back and had over 900 yards against them in the last two games. They [Clemson] have a better defense all around and have one of the better placekickers in America. Close game, Clemson’s advantage comes with the close game."
Wonder if he will call them overrated tomorrow?

Sometimes it's not about his career as a coach or his breakdown of the game. To me, the guy is just fun as heck. Which, lest we forget, is what this is all about.
I'd be shocked if Lee Corso considered himself a preeminent football analyst. He knows the sport well enough to make a contribution and then he is silly and has fun with it.

I agree with you Wookie. I don't understand the hate of Corso. I think he's a great personality and look forward to his picks each week. College Gameday would suck without him.

I like Corso as well. I'm not sure how he's done since, but a couple years ago, they listed his cumulative record and he was right more thant 2/3s of the time. Here's an exerpt.
