I'm guessing that if he wanted to stop coaching football in 10 years or less he would go to USuC. The Ole Balz Sac and Sputtering Lou both knew when they took over at USuC that would be their last coaching gig. They both decided to take the challenge and now the Ole Balz Sac is realizing just what Lou realized when he left. USuC is a coaches graveyard where old coaches go to be put to rest. Go Tigers.

Well, you have to admit that they have the best retirement package for coached in the nation. Just ask Sputtering Lou and Otis Spurrier.

Using logic here: 1. Chip Kelly is not a used up has been coach; 2. Chip Kelly has somewhere else that he can go; therefore 3. Chip Kelly will never end up at USuC.
We good?

Has no sources or any logical reason why he'd take the job. Just a chicken day dreaming about the next failed coach in Columbia

One thing South Carolina does have - money. If stuff lines up, hey, it could happen. They could shell out the $4-million plus it would undoubtedly take to sign him.
Chip Kelly is not a Football God, though...as witnessed by the way he's made friends and alienated people - and not won games - at Philadelphia. No questioning his acumen as an OC, and he's certainly a sharp football mind...but is he the guy to do a top-to-bottom rebuild of a program that clearly has much deeper issues than just talent?
Keep in mind, at Oregon, he was the chosen successor of Mike Belloti, who himself was very successful. Bellotti had a bunch of 10+ win seasons and in the early 2000's Oregon also started putting massive investment into their football program, in no small part because of their apparel deal and sponsorship by Nike. He did not take over a football program in shambles and re-tool it top to bottom, he just had to maintain what had already been built over the previous regime. At Oregon he had the very best in everything - resources, recruiting budget, facilities, technology, weight training...you name it, Oregon was ahead of the curve and it was all largely in place before Kelly got there. There have also been...hints...that Kelly is maybe not entirely comfortable with black players. His rosters at Oregon were a lot more white and Polynesian than the ones he would have at South Carolina. It's interesting to note...Kelly does not seem big on black QB's either.
The name would undoubtedly swing a lot of weight...but Kelly has absolutely zero ties to the Southeast and would inherit a program in absolute disarray...not sure he's the right guy for the job, honestly.
I'd probably be more afraid of Charlie Strong.

Yeah.....my cootroach co-worker was talking about that yesterday...

He also brought up Jon Gruden, and also brought up Bill cowher, citing that his daughter is attending USuCk......
In all honesty... if chip doesn't get it turned around in Philly... he may get"tired" and return to college football, but it won't the landfill in the middle of SC...
Jon Gruden is enjoying his job as a commentator.. he once said that he wanted to coach clemson's Wide receivers that should tell you what he'd probably think about going to cootville...
And...I need someone to confirm if Cowher's daughter is attending USuCk... he's a wuffie..would he consider tarnishing his legacy by going to coach the crappiest college football program in history?.......
