Lake Hartwell

After the University lost their battle with the U.S Corps of Engineers and Lake Hartwell became a reality, a diversion #### had to be constructed to prevent flooding of low lying campus land including Memorial Stadium. I seem to remember a statement that without the ####, water would have found its way to a certain row of seats in the stadium. Does anyone remember the number of seats that would have been flooded?

Nope, Hartwell is great. The upper side is as clean as Keowee. All the locals go to Hartwell to fish and swim because Keowee has been ruined by retired yankees and all the dumb ### out of towners that show up on weekends not knowing how to use a boat ramp.

Lol, I wouldn't say, Keowee is ruined, you just have to know when to go and where to go. I took the family out there yesterday and we had a great time. We know how to get away from the out of control idiots in wakeboard boats and JetSkiers.

Funny bc yea keowee is very nice mountain water, I don’t know how I feel about that big nuclear power plant right on it lol I know a couple ppl that take private jets out of Clemson and Greenville private airport and they swear the plant glows at night. Also notice there aren’t as many birds in that area some have speculated due to radiation so 🤷🏻♂️. As many of ppl have said the upper part of hartwell is filled by runoff from keowee so it’s pretty much the same water. Other part of hartwell can’t make that claim tho lol

they use the water to cool the reactors, it is completely safe, or it would be lighting up Geiger counters all over Oconee County.

They WON!
Thanks the determination of Clemson president RC Edwards and other friends in high places, the Army Corps of Engineers finally agreed to build the d.ykes that protected all of the land where the football practice facilities are as well as lot #5 and the actual stadium (up to row 16 reportedly) … the Corps of Engineers had no intention of building the d.ykes without putting up a fight.

his retired home near downtown once while my wife & Mrs Moonpie were upstairs looking at all their many closets in their new home modeled after the home for our universities’ residing President.
And he took a lot of the credit in saving Death Valley, and should.
