Finally a truthful statement from ESPN.. I don’t agree with it but at least he has the stones to say what ESPN wants and doesn’t. And that does carry weight.

eSECpn said America was tired of seeing Clemson vs. Alabama year after year and wanted to see someone else play Alabama. It's how they think. The bias is baked in.

He is saying "IF ESPN had a rooting interest they'd be rooting for the biggest schools, not the SEC Schools." They aren't against Clemson because we're Clemson, that's silly if we believe that. Executives at these networks don't like any of the regional schools, regardless of conference. They don't want Purdue, they don't want Auburn, or NC State, or Oklahoma State. Smaller schools, smaller markets, less fans, less eyeballs...

Am I missing something? Didn't those Clemson vs Bama games put up HUGE ratings. And anytime Clemson vs SEC like UGly or Tx A&M or other it also draws some of the best ratings from that weekend they are played?

Yeah but the ratings from Ohio State/Texas will blow those away, simply put.
There are 42 million people in Texas and Ohio combined. And on top of that you know the whole south and midwest will be watching because that's who watches college football, regardless.

Agree. That's why he said they'd rather have meechigan instead of pedo state. Quotes from the ratings facts:
"The most-watched quarterfinal was the Rose Bowl, eighth-seeded Ohio State’s 41-21 drubbing of No. 1 seed Oregon, which averaged 21.1 million viewers.
Still, last year’s Rose Bowl — which was a semifinal game due to the four-team field under the CFP’s previous format — had a larger audience. An average of 27.2 million viewers watched Michigan, the No. 1 seed, edge Alabama, the No. 4 seed, 27-20 in overtime."
I partly agree with him but our first round game was up against a pro game. That should never happen. The ratings will probably be down for this Thursday and Friday game. Friday will get more clicks simply because it's a weekend night.

It’s the college football playoffs. It’s going to get millions of eyeballs regardless of who is playing.
Texas and OSU fans would tune out of their teams were not in there? Not buying that.
Clemson has historically put up solid numbers.

I used to respect Herbstreit. Now, I will show him as much as he showed Clemson when he named them. Hopefully, he never calls another game in Death Valley.
Disney has sold out college football and kicked out employees like Pollack who still value morality and fair play.
