1. Cannot dig holes to climb out of in innings 1-3.
2. Consistent production from 3-5 in the batting order.
3. Don't make silly errors.
4. Knaak is dominant. Smith is solid. Darden/Barlow get past the first two innings.
5. Gordon closes when called on to do so.

We really need Smith to go somewhat deep tomorrow night, no more of this 2-3 inning bullcrap, that would put us way behind the 8 ball. If he goes 5+ and doesn't give up a huge number to High Point we should be ok. I think the biggest key to success for the whole weekend is to allow the bullpen to pitch as few innings as possible lol.

Agree the bullpen is a crap-shoot. Can be outstanding. Can be abysmal.

I can agree to an extent....The post season and the importance of the importance of the moment will make the bullpen a little more effective than usual. Sort of like playing an xtra inning game of sorts like vs UGA...

Perfect scenario would be that he throws 2-3 innings but absolutely pile it on and can save some innings for sun in case we need him … I’d honestly in a pinch say a game Monday if it goes there throw Gordon to start… not like he hasn’t done it

I would add timely hitting and not leaving a slew of runners on base in scoring position...

The biggest key is to not lose belief.
They are going to be trailing at multiple points throughout this weekend. If we’ve learned anything of this team from this season, it is that.
I just wish they could always feel like they were losing so they could hit for a full 9 innings. Because that’s apparently when they want to

Run rule Friday game and use only the starter (Barlow or Darden)
Knaak goes 6+ on Saturday and bullpen cleans it up
More generally:
NO ERRORS!!!
Throw strikes/limited BBs
Situational hitting (bunting, sac flys, directional hits to advance runners or avoid DPs, hits w RISP)
You know, fundamental baseball...

we will not run-rule High Point. Their starter against us has a 3.95 ERA over 95 innings with 104 Ks. He ain't chopped liver.
