Win and you are in.....its an easy scenario. Our goal is the Win the ACC, that is the goal and that is how you must think IMO.

.... you can't win the ACC championship if you're not in the ACC championship. There is a possibility, not a probability but a possibility, where Clemson could finish 11-1 and still not qualify for the championship.

He's looking at how to avoid that slim possibility from coming true.

Exactly. Strength of opponents will become a factor.

It is easier for Clemson to win its court cases if the ACC is all screwed up.

Clemson will make it as an at-large at 11-1 if that happens. Already top 10.

ACC Championship? We don’t need no stinking’ Conference Championship!

No way would 11-1 Clemson be picked over a 10-2 SEC or B1G.

Not at all certain they would be picked over 9-3 SEC or B1G.

CFP rankings are released. If Clemson is top 10, then we will absolutely be an at-large selection at 11-1.

This first ranking is going to be huge for a number of reasons.

Louisville is a common opponent

For Miami, and smu, so not much on that front, (not really worried about tiebreaker scenarios, but some are tracking it)

I do like the idea of beating teams that are playing well and like good matchups.

Boston College though plays SMU so them losing is good for us.

I like to see all the teams we have played or are going to play to win when they do not play us. The better they do, the better we look for the playoffs. That includes the 'Cookies.

If we are 11-1 and held out of the ACCCG, that just means we get a home playoff game!

And have an extra game to play. Extra games are not a good thing, no matter how much we’d like to see a playoff game in the Valley.

We wouldn't have an extra game though. It would be the same number of games. We wouldn't be in the ACC champ game, so you take that game out.

Disagree. Lose another game Pitt, Lose Louisville, Lose VT. Just in case we don't win one of those games we don't want any of them holding the tie breaker over us if we both have 1 loss.

I’m only worried about playing Pitt, as for the rest of the games will be a cake walk
