Just wondering, is it just me or has anyone else noticed how

many kids have both Clemson and the coots in their top list of schools. The reason I mention is, kids today must not have any allegiance to schools. I just find it odd, that a kid (ie Michael Roth) grows up a Clemson fan would even consider going to Cootie U even if Clemson didn't offer. Surely there were other offers.

Allegiance be darned. These kids want exposure. They want a chance to showcase their talent on a national level.
I work with a man whose kid is high on Clemson's recruiting list.He is also high on Ohio State,LSU,Alabama,Tennessee and South Carolina.
And if you were Michael Roth and Clemson didn't offer, how would you feel?

1) don't take what folks say on a message board as the truth. I've seen people listed as "growing up a so and so fan" and then read later that wasn't true.

2) When kids become recruits - it's different. They actually meet these other coaches from other schools and get to know them personally- and their families- and dine with them at their homes. Fans don't do that.

3) A lot of these players that end up at rival schools. They don't treat the other side like the fans do. I remember Carey Rich (former USC basketball player) saying that he and other Gamecock players would go hang out with Clesmon players in their rooms before a basketball game against each other. They'd laugh it up and have a great time and talk about how they could never let the fans see them doing that.

The kids want to play for a coach they like & that's Ray

I hate it, but I have had former Clemson baseball players tell me that.

We were talking about this the other day at work. One of my coworkers was saying that a lady at her church has a son who is being recruited now for baseball. He's just now going into high school. Clemson and Carolina are 2 of those schools. Every single family member is a HUGE Clemson fan but the lady was telling Ann, my coworker, that he's already said if it came down to it, he'd rather play for Ray than Jack. For him, it's going to a school, regardless of allegiance, where he can get the most exposure and play for a top coach and program.
