Someone had said something about a 3 loss Alabama team. So it got me to thinking would the same national criticism be given as Clemson had last year as a 3 loss team? Would Saban dynasty be declared over? The obvious difference is we are not in the SEC so it means less, but still?

No, they are viewed differently than others, and so is their conference. Each year they have a couple of great teams. Most of the rest are pretty average. They do get the benefit of their ESPN daddies.

If you compare records over the last 7-10 years you would see that Bama is in a different class than everyone else so you should not expect the same response. I know you want to be hurt and angry but in this case it would be on you and not the media.

Degrees of separation between the two programs? Especially given each kept the other from two more titles. 10 Years ..................... .................... 7 Years Alabama 128 - 13 4 National Titles 92 - 8 3 National Titles Clemson 123 - 17 2 National Titles 89 - 10 2 National Titles
It's more than fine to respect Alabama, but they don't deserve any more of a pass than does Clemson. And, frankly, I prefer Clemson's route to success over Alabama's sense of entitlement at the expense of 'Joy'.

Not sure if the comment was towards me or not, but I am not hurt. We are second during that same time period. Many proclaimed we were through. The SEC and the Big 10 are jokes as much as the ACC. I agree usually 2 good teams and the rest are ordinary teams. I do not get butthurt over what someone says on a TV show or in the paper, it was simply a question.

There is no doubt that Clemson does not stack up to Bama historically, but the comment that Bama is in a different class than Clemson the past 7 - 10 years is fundamentally wrong. I knew that in my head, but another poster got to the stats to disprove it faster than me. Bama has done a smidgen better, but that is it. It is a distinction without a difference.
The question is a good one. If Bama loses 3 games and misses the playoffs will its dominance be declared over like Clemson's was at the end of last year? I think the answer is no. It will still be in the top 3 going into next year and talked about as one of the 2 or 3 clear best teams in the country. I don't think it is butthurt to recognize that the media was very quick to write off Clemson after what was still a very good year by most standards, just because we did not win the conference and go to the playoff. True we have been ranked highly all year, but if you have lustened, all you have heard is OSU, Bama and Uga, then everyone else. That would never happen to Bama based on 1 year, and in fact it did not when it missed the playoff in 2019.
The same is true of OSU. We.don't stack up historically to it, but we have been better by a long shot the past 10 years based on W-L records, playoff appearances, conference championships and national championships. Yet "the media" never declares its dominance to be over.

"Just seen a comment on another post could be either:
* (I've) just seen a comment on another post..... -or- * (I) just saw a comment on another post.....
Another distinction without a difference since it's an abbreviated/truncated/clipped (not sure which it is) sentence structure. The error is due to an incomplete sentence, not the tense of the verb.
Now, if he had said "I seen a comment on another post....." or "I've just saw a comment on another post...." his words would be grammatically incorrect..... but he didn't.

Yes - my assumption was to point out that the original assumption could have been an incorrect assumption. As you point out, mine could be as well, but my assumption shows that one should not make assumptions....

Clemson deserved the criticism. They looked awful even in games they won.

They did not look good, I can agree. Has Alabama looked good? Texas and Texas A&M both should have been or could have been losses. We do not have the Heisman QB. DJ has greatly improved, but still not a Heisman qb

saying there's real trouble in Tuscaloosa.
Now, if Bama comes back and wins out and gets another Natty, Saban will once again be hailed as the GOAT.
But as of right now, there is talk that something is amiss at Bama.
