Had no idea how his comment about UGA’s football graduation rate would spread like it has. It is exploding all over and now front page of Athens sports section.
I’m not sure who’s going to win the game, And I have gone back-and-forth on this all summer long.
But, I don’t believe I would’ve said what he said the day before Georgia and Clemson play. Kirby uses everything he can for motivation…
Will be leaving in the morning by 6 AM to go pick up my Clemson buddies and head into cesspool Atlanta, Ga

That’s a little crass. I respect many other team fans brave enough to post on TNet. I don’t think personal attacks is the best lion for a man or woman of Clemson. We treat the enemy like friends until we kick off. I’ve fed as many opposing fans at my tailgate as I have clemson people.

I hear you Bulldog, but if Smart is trying to motivate his team by saying “Clemson is making fun of you guys because only 41% of our football players since 2016 have graduated,” it might backfire on him. Perhaps a goodly number of those players might think ~ if Clemson can graduate 99% and Alabama can graduate 93%, etc., why can’t Georgia prioritize making sure I graduate?
Granted the comment might motivate the coaches, but them bringing it as motivation to the players would likely just expose that Georgia football coaches are keen on optimizing eligibility of players and what happens once they leave for the nfl or use up their eligibility is not their concern.
Just my opinion, which could be completely wrong.

Careful Brett my kids were there last weekend and I had to keep them off the streets. I would hate for a player to have to miss a quarter bf they killed a kid drag racing.
Reality is coellge football is big business and it’s win at all costs. Use 18-21 year old kids and as long as they are fast who cares what destruction they cause. I know I’m probably in the minority but I honestly don’t care the outcome tomorrow. I think we have a chance but I wouldn’t swap programs right now. Using kids is trash and UGA is an absolute trash program. They are talented and win a lot but at what cost. Honestly I’m good where we are.

It’s not new news. That’s bad press. UGA needs to fix that. Respect drips when kids leave not prepared for life behind football. Here’s the facts: 5% of high school players play college football. 1% of that 5% play in the NFL. He’s using kids to get results. Not a good look. I’d rather build young men into great men than win. Just my honest opinion.

Win or not today will not change that graduation rate. It does show that college football is not alive in Athens because college football was supposed to be about student athletes. Munson should have kept his mouth shut to after the semi pro team and a somewhat collegiate team played the game today.
