did see on multiple web sites, you can use a meat thermometer, if the ground temp at level of roots is 50-55 degrees 5 days in a row, that's when the weeds start germinating

I don't think all of mine ever died***

Without knowing where you live, you're probably ok. Pre-emerge usually stays active for 120 days. The cooler your season is, if you're further north, you're prolly a little early.

Be sure and do it again in September. This will keep the cool season weeds down. Get on a regular cycle of this and you should stay weed free.

Don't use pre-emerge and then try to overseed in the fall. It won't come up

I did mine the other day, so I'll let you know in about 2 months***

Except where the zoysia is growing. It pretty much chokes out the weeds on its own

I put it down once and use crowding out method. I just deal with a certain amount of weeds.

I have a broken door window and a busted back porch I'm not gonna touch. Around here I won't get a dime more for this place if I fix it, so screw it. I'm not fixing anything.

Q for the peanut gallery....wild onions: weeds? bad/good, love/hate?

Feb 7, 2025, 10:18 AM

I have a ton of them that sprout not only in the Spring, but also in the Fall.

I love them personally - they smell good and my donkeys love them as a treat. I don't eat them myself, but some folks do.

Just wondering other peoples' opinion of them.
