I keep hearing Leonhard is the guy, but I have not seen his name connected to Clemson once from any nonclemson source.
Does anyone have any source?

He would be a good DC, and then move along to a HC position! Aggressive D like Vendables.
Just got blowed-up by Buffalo, so his season is over today!
Clemson would be a good move on his HC journey…..

That was the name I was told weeks ago before it was all over the inter webs and I posted it here. I asked, who is the most realistic, home run hire on our board and that was the name I was told… a few days later it was all over the place so I feel like it was good information, I highly doubt I started all that ruckus on the Twitter.

He's a Wisconsin guy that once served as an interim coach and an analyst at Illinois with a year in the NFL. Plus he's a DB coach. He's just a generic "young guy" people have passionately latched on to.
He's never recruited the south. He didn't recruit at Illinois. And Wisconsin wasn't a major portal player when he was there. So lord knows what the buzz with this guy is.
Maybe Chez Melusi has been talking him up to the Tiger Powers that be.

You know he had a top 10 defense like 5 or 6 years at Wisconsin… he was a very good DC regardless of “where he recruited”… I’m pretty sure he couldn’t recruit the south if we landed him lol not saying he’s the guy and he may not even get an interview it may all be rumors, but I would def be ok with the hire.

Experience recruiting the south matters less and less these days, especially on defense. Google maps can get you where you need to go.
The good ol boy network is only really required for pocket QBs and grit fed offensive linemen if you don’t want the corn fed offensive linemen

ACC Championships and being in the CFP also recruits. Throw in graduation rates and making Mama happy and he can handle the other 20% needed for recruiting.
