To Texas’ 25 which ranks them #1 on D in this category.
Can this be true? Yikes!
And, he said Tiger D is not the D of old and one of several reasons he’s going with Longhorns by more than the 11.5 but laughingly said Dabo could prove him wrong as he has more than once.

That’s what Wes’ defense is designed to do. I’m not saying I like the strategy, but it’s the bend don’t break defense that occasionally stretches beyond its elastic limit.

We have allowed 67 plays of 20+ yards this year, the 123rd-most in the country. Texas, by the way, is No. 1 with just 25 allowed. Both us and Texas are in the top-10 for explosive plays gained

Texas has played some pretty bad defenses. We’re the best they’ll have played all year on paper.

There is no paper that says we have a better defense than UGA.
We're the #66 total defense. They've played 6 defenses that are better than us statistically: Michigan (#14), Oklahoma (#21), Georgia (#35), Kentucky (#45), Texas A&M (#64), and Arkansas (#65). Five of those teams are better than us in scoring defense as well. I don't put any stock in the 247 Talent Composite, but they have UGA, Oklahoma, A&M, and Florida with more blue chips on defense than us. Coaching-wise, I don't think anyone would argue Pork Chop is a better defensive playcaller than Venables or Glenn Schumann. So where did you get this idea?

Sorry, I meant offense. Don’t pay anymore, so I can’t edit. We will be the best offense - which is what would have made sense because the thread was about the efficacy of their defense. They’re deservedly a favorite but I don’t think their defense is particularly daunting.

IMHO, Mr. Pate pretty much hinted he had to have Texas to win to prove his paper prediction of the game right. He was so taken by USuC this year and has been passive aggressive in taking shots at how Dabo runs his program this season. If Texas was to lose, one of his "SEC darlings" would be eliminated and he would probably pick harder against us in the next game.

poor tackling. Busy are going to happen but way to many times, especially QB scrambles, we've had the opportunity to make the play, but just blow it.

My guess is a ton of those 'big plays' we give up are runs! We have a poor run defense on the perimeter/edges. If Texas has a quick back, like the kid from L'ville, we could be in trouble. If you think about it, our corners rarely get beat deep
