From game last night......

Dec 20, 2014, 3:22 PM

It appears this team is definitely lacking in talent....KJ McDaniels was the "go to" guy we could count on the last few years....This team does not appear to have anyone close to that talent level....Go Tigers!!!

We are basically the same team as last year minus KJ....

The same issues you are witnessing this year are the same ones from last year. No true point guard (Brownell won't play Roper at his true position of PG, instead mostly playing him at SG). No movement on the offensive side of the ball. And 5-7 minutes scoring droughts being a regular thing in every game. Last year we just got bailed out by KJ. To me Brownell's biggest mistake was not making Roper the starting PG his freshman year, when Roper came in and played more effectively than Rod Hall. That's just my opinion, but there is no denying not having a true PG is something that lies on the shoulder of Brad Brownell.

Jordan Roper cannot play point guard. He is not a ball

handler. One of the reasons he doesn't get to play much is because he absolutely cannot dribble with his right hand. Teams trap him often and he picks up his dribble when forced to his right and often turns the ball over as a result.

We need studs at the guard spot. Guard play is below average. We need better facilities and degree programs that can get juco players in.When we win fans come to games.

We just need to recruit better overall. Not sure Jucos is

Dec 20, 2014, 4:38 PM

they way to go. Facilities improvements will help, but we need some better recruiters on staff. We currently sign too many players that aren't ACC quality and probably aren't mid-major quality for that matter.

That is the problem. Look no further.

Must have better players. That includes numerous players that can shoot the ball really well and score at this level. It is no more complicated than that.

I said from day one that recruiting would make or break Brownell, and right now it's breaking him.

Also, I think Roper lost his shooting touch when he enrolled. Including the SC game, hitting 15.8% from the 3pt line and 26.5% overall.

the only good politician is a dead politician.

From what I saw last night, Roper would be the last man in

He certainly can't handle the ball well enough to be a point guard, and is too small to play anywhere else, and is a liability on defense. Hall is definitely a better option at PG.

I believe several of the better high school teams in South Carolina would have beat us the way we played last night against coots....We have just got to get better than THAT.....Go Tigers!!!
