Todays Master's golfers are Vanilla Beans compared to the past personalities..imho

Saying...yes, the younguns can hit the ball, put up low scores, know all the slick things to get the ball from point A to point B, know what to say in press conferences, wear color co-ordinated clothing with a firm's name on the cap, etc...but overall as a group they are bland as baby food!
But dang there's not one that has the pizazz of a Palmer with his Arnie's Army loud following, and his cocking his head after he slammed off a long drive..and then his fast gait to follow that ball (so sad to see him this week sitting in a chair, feeble looking & not able to even drive a ball off the tee).
OR, the Bear killing the course with his power & huge followings, or his competition with Palmer that brought created some of the best golf competition ever,...
OR, Chi-Chi Rod with his comedics along with his great fiery play and chatter with the Gallery..
OR, that funny & highly talented Lee Trevino who was a Chi-Chi type clone himself..with unreal shots, competitive but with an ability to laugh at himself & with the Gallery...
And, so many many others.. Llike gary Player in his All-Black & determined drive to win but with a Gentleman's class, or Tom Watson with his smooth winning play & a smile..or The Shark with his attire, blond mane & a personal drive that ate up the course in a tidal wave befitting a drug maniac out for a day in the sun without a fix...
And so many other old-timers whose play, attire or personality made golf so magical.
Yes, you mid/age guys have Tiger, Phil, etc...but they are jelly beans in comparison to the old boys..
And you younguns have Rory, Bubba, Sergio, Jason Day...WooHoo!
Ha..have I worked uP any body's blood pressure on this chilly Saturday of The MASTER's?!
Good,for i do miss my generation of pro great golfers..as i do the great movie stars of the 40's & 50's...and the race car drivers like Fireball & Cale.

Selling signed flags outside hooters these days drinking a beer. Went from Pla golfer to flea market salesman. Sad seeing him fall so much. I was bargaining with him and literally lost respect mid sentence

Bubba has some flavor with his unorthodox swing. Sergio has been around a while. He's the biggest crybaby the sport has ever seen.
Tiger Woods changed the sport. It's all about swing plane and power now days. Back then it was about the club face and being able to hit shots. How you got it there was irrelevant.
It will still be fun to watch Rory and Speith battle it out today.
