anyone else worried about the O coordinator situation?

I have no doubt that Jeff Scott and Tony Elliot are both fine coordinators on their own, but I often worry that having too many chefs in the kitchen could bite us in critical game situations. If they are too busy arguing over the head sets when the clock is winding down in the critical moments of a game, it could cost us and the wrong play might get called or the players get confused and line up in the wrong formation. I am just throwing this out there before it becomes a problem, I would hate to see us drop a critical game in the closing seconds because they were arguing over the call and time expires.

the dysfunctional family atmosphere to recruits. This could have implications for decades. It needs to be corrected. Copy another program if needed.

since you brought it up, absolutely it could be a problem. And aside from last game confusion, I imagine the film rooms can get pretty contentious with discord over what game plans to develop, etc, and discord has a way of spreading to other parts of the team.
And on top of that we have a qb coach. That's three guys trying to translate observations, expectations and instructions to one player. I don't see that working.

Very very confusing. Ideally we should just have 2 assistant coaches IMO.

Let's wait and see if we encounter any such situations under their regime, and see how they handle it.
Until then, the jury is still out

Not many people know this but there is an assistant to both Elliott and Scott who is sort of an arbitrator for situations like this . He is in the coach's box, on the phones and makes the ultimate decision should Elliott and Scott not agree. His name is McGriff.

I think that they do also, but I would love to hear the conversation over the headsets when they firmly disagree on a certain play....

My brother lives next door to a guy who's niece's daughter dates a guy who cuts the grass for a lady who walks in the mornings past the Football Facility.
She said she saw Jeff and Tony fighting over donuts one morning in the parking lot. She wasn't clear what started it.... but did say that 'donuts were thrown'.
Could be the smoking gun that cracks this story wide open.

O Coordinator issues
Jul 13, 2017, 10:10 PM
[ in reply to Re: anyone else worried about the O coordinator situation? ] |

I've noticed that some of our plays do not always work. I had no clue why. Now that I think about it, those bad plays are probably due to confusion and contention between the two coordinators.
