James Quick and the first down marker

Oct 18, 2016, 5:26 PM

Now that some of L'Ville's fans are belly-aching again, it's bringing this question to mind: Has James Quick said anything about the marker in an interview? I saw Petrino make his insinuation and SBNation do a full-on 9/11 style investigative report on this most profound and disturbing of historical conspiracies (sarcasm alert!), but has Quick himself said anything one way or the other?

I believe he knows he thought he had Edmond beat to the outside and our man just made a great play.

I believe he gave halfarsed effort

Oct 18, 2016, 5:37 PM

and the fact that he extended his arm only WAY after he was out of bounds tells me that he was HOPING for a result and not trying for one.

What Quick did is the equivalent of a QB sliding 1 yard short on 4th down with the game on the line.

I wish he had extended the ball before he got out of bounds

Edmonds would've probably taken it out of his hands and gone racing down the sidelines for a TD

If James had been aware he would've seen the marker stick!

I noticed that their unofficial marker

Oct 18, 2016, 5:35 PM

is set by someone wearing UofL gear. It was either in a highlight or in the Duke game. Don't exactly recall.

Petrino is going to teach someone something about what line they should cross???? Well crap, now my extra heavy duty irony meter is busted.

If Quick and company really did NOT know where the 10 yard marker was located, then they have nobody to blame but themselves. I know one person that knew EXACTLY where it was...EDMOND.I bet the rest of the defense knew as well. In that situation I cannot imagine an offense snapping the ball until everyone on it knew precisely at a minimum what was needed on the play. So to address Petrino's complaint: do a better job of coaching!

Have you seen or heard anything coming from that loser coach that makes any sense at all? Everytime he speaks he is as clueless as that dumb governor of theirs.

Not hearing enough ...about .....

The down marker was in the same location relative to the sideline the entire NCSU game. Marcus Edmund made a great play defensively, period.

All I know is that was a clinic in open-field tackling

A route 1 yrds deep will seldom gain 12 yards.

Oct 18, 2016, 8:38 PM

I have no idea why Jackson didn't sling it to the end zone. 4th and 12 and you throw to a receiver on a 3 yard route? Please.

I still can't believe he actually threw the ball. When the play started I was certain he was taking off himself

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That whole excuse doesn't make any sense. They had to get

Oct 18, 2016, 8:50 PM

to the 2 on 1st down, 2nd down, 3rd down, and TWO 4th down plays. The false start didn't affect the line to gain. They had a time out where Petrino should've made every player know where they needed to get.

There's no conspiracy. Louisville didn't make a play, Clemson did.

Those little ####### need to move on.
