What is your most memorable game in Death Valley?

For me, it was 1980, and I was working Crowe security in the west end zone stands. Clemson was 5-5, Danny was, kind of, on the Hot Seat, and The Tigers came out in their Orange Pants to face the coots, who were bowl eligible and had George Rogers in the backfield! Willie Underwood capped a beautiful day in The Valley with 2 interceptions (one for a pick 6) and Clemson won 27-6 and sent The Capons back to cootlumbia with their tailfeathers between their legs!!

Unfortunately, the Pitt Loss on Sr. Day in 2016 really sticks in my mind.(Stupid TE Pop Pass) Fortunately every top 5 team lost that weekend and it really had little impact on our ranking while it exposed areas to fix and focused the team.

I was there. This one you could truly blame on an official. The ACC decided it was ok to have a coot officiate the game. Needless to say after that debacle, he’s never done another Clemson game. But to answer the question, it had to be the 2016 Louisville game.

The hail game against UGA

The teams went to the locker rooms for halftime and the hail came down. Everyone took shelter under the UL stands until it stopped just before the end of halftime. The players came out and had the "what the heck happened" look as the west end zone kept the hail of the locker rooms.

were on the home side @ the 45-yard line lower bowl. When the coots took the lead 14-13, the chickens sitting right in front of us started celebrating like crazy, hugging and kissing and just being totally obnoxious in a sea of orange.
I've never seen my dad so fired up and happy than when Rod made the catch and then Hunt pushed through the field goal for the win. Needless to say, the coot's kissing and hugging turned to bitter tears.
This was the last Clemson game that my dad attended.

It wasn't the biggest game but it was the first game I took my son when he was old enough to understand and had some knowledge of the game. We sat in the upper deck and were able to see the plays develop.

Georgia 1987 - dogs went up by 4 midway through 4th and then we were forced to punt on the ensuing possession and the outlook was extremely bleak.
Then the Tigers miraculously downed the punt at the 1 inch line. So now we're thinking, "holy smokes if we can force a safety, they have to kick to us and we can win it with a FG!" And that's what exactly happened!

Bowden Bowl 1, we should have won that game
Notre Dame in the "Hurricane" I was in a suite so I was perfectly dry l.
This Saturday vs Louisville. I'm bring 2 HS players down and will get to experience being on the field prior to the game.

1981 vs UGA Clemson defense stopped Hershel Walker stone cold. They hit him so many times that day, I was surprised he made it through the game.
CJ Spiller vs Ga Tech where he faked at least 3 defenders on the screen play for a huge gain.
Hunter Renfrow catching the pass against the Coots and running through the whole defense.
Watching Clemson demolish Wake Forest in 1981 by a score of 82-24.

Louisville. Veteran's appreciation day.
Thanks to the generous offer of some folks here on T-net a buddy of mine accompanied me to Clemson, we tail-gated with them for hours and watched the game with them.
I've been back again, last year, thanks to some more folks on T-net, and enjoyed that experience immensely.
But, the first game in Death Valley was my most memorable.

Been going to Death Valley since 1969 (as an adult not on my Pappy's knee). This game was one is my Alltime favorite game. Set the stage. I'm a student at CU ('74 grad)..
November 25, 1972 Coots came to DV. It is wet and COLD. My whinny date wanted to leave at end of 1st Qtr (she was in the dorm up behind the smoke stacks) I told her GO, and she did. I finally understood why she didn't date me anymore.
I stay to watch a great game that came to last play. Clemson had slogged to a 7-0 lead and COOTS finnaly drove down for a TD with little time left. Score 6-6. Coots go for a 2 pt conversion and LB/DB Jimmy Williamson knocks down the pass in end zone and Tigers win.
Don't recall why they went for 2 pts. I don't recall ever being that cold and watched a football game. It was bitter/wet. Now I was cold at the CU/Baylor game back in 70s.
I wonder what ever happened that that pretty young philly that got up and left me. She probably married a Coot and lived happily every after in a double wide trailer outside of Monks Corner...
