Fellow Tiger Fans,
Retired military veteran looking for opinions. Currently live down in the Low Country of the state. I'm looking to purchase land in the Pendleton, Walhalla, Townville, or Six Mile. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My wife and I had our hearts set on moving to Six Mile

Just didn’t work out for us, but we did buy in Pickens County (Pumpkintown/Table Rock area), and will be making that our permanent address in about 6 months, and wouldn’t change it now if we could. Still love the Six Mile area, and pass through it every time we go through Tiger Town.

All the good places in the Carolinas have been ruined by development. However, it is helping my property value. Buildable land in our area (Apex/Holly Springs, NC) is now $150,000 /acre. I plan to cash in on my 8 acres in a few years and move back to the beach.

Youngest daughter lives in Holly Springs. Moved there four years ago from Apex where she had bought a townhouse after graduating from Campbell. Couple years ago a house in their current subdivision sold for 50k more than the asking price. Wonder if the recent mortgage rates have had much of a downturn affect in that area.

You can not beat the area around Glassy Mountain off highway eleven BUT, it is costly. As a kid growing up in that area I could have bought acres for fifty bucks! Not any more.

I have several tracts off the Blue Ridge Parkway but it is costly too. Got an offer today for $11,000/acre. Some dude from Haiti wanting to build tiny homes. They are big now for some reason.

...cut it up in 10 acre tracts that went from 10K to 14k per acre. Over the past 6 months I have sold 6, 10 acre tracts in Powdersville in the 25k to 28k per acre range......I have said for many years to people looking at land who say, I am going to wait until I can afford it...I always say, "By the time you can afford it you can't afford it....."

When I started buying up this mountain land for a hundred bucks an acre my two sons begged me to buy them a pony or some other nonsense item. “We don’t want no land.!” They think differently now! Ole Dad turned out to be not so dumb after all!
