It's funny. Before the season, we thought the UGA game didn't matter

in terms of playoff implications for either team.
Turns out, it sure as heyull matters. Had we scheduled Central Florida instead of UGA, we'd be sitting at 10-1 and anywhere from #7 to #10 in the nation with the coot game to put us in the playoff.
There is ZERO incentive for the SEC or BIG to ever play big non-con games. And there's also zero incentive for Clemson to play them. The committee does not count SEC losses against other SEC teams, but they certainly count SEC losses against non-SEC teams.

Need to schedule the middle of the pack SEC teams ... not the top teams.

Why would you just assume a game against a top team would be a loss? Winning the game would have been a huge asset for the resume and Clemson would be in the top 10 right now despite the Louisville loss.

Oh yeah...as a fan, I would love adding another cakewalk game to an already tier 2 schedule that we have with the ACC teams. Would be great to go into December thinking we are on top of the world only to be woefully underprepared for "bog boy" football and get run out of the building by a team like Texas, UGA, Bama or OSU.

Texas has beaten NOBODY and is ranked #3. Zero top 25 wins.

Why would an SEC team ever schedule a difficult non-conference game.
Texas AM lost the opener to ND and they still have not recovered. They would be sitting at #10 right now had they opened the season with Wake Forest.

Someone in charge of the SEC schedules is a Texas grad. There is no doubt about it. UGA has played Texas 3, Bama 7, Ole Miss 9, TN 11, and Clem 17...Tx got blown out at home vs UGA. All their wins are cupcakes. If aTm beats them, they should be out...but the biased committee will not let that happen.
They have a weak conference schedule again next year. The teams that get a weaker conference schedule should play top ranked teams from other conferences.

several games, this team would have slept walked into one or two other losses gushing over their press clippings, polishing their ranking, and thinking their #### don't stink.
Almost every year we play down to the perceived level of a sub-par opponent and get bit. This year it was Loserville, sadly.
Best isn't the Standard. It never has been. When it is, you don't have to put it on some huge banner.

If we were in the SEC, it would be a quality loss that moves you up in the polls a couple spots.
