Ain't it funny how the people that talk about how terrible this country has become are the same ones that get their panties in a wad when someone quietly kneels during our national anthem in protest?
Why do we have to listen to Trump and his ilk constantly ##### moan and complain but they don’t want a ball player to peacefully take a stand for change?

I don't have a problem with them kneeling exactly. I really don't care. Personally, I salute the TV during the National Anthem. On a serious note, people are trying to get away from politics when they turn on MNF or whatever. We want to escape all of that stuff. We want positive. Life is hard enough for people and they just want to escape for a bit. JMO

We did for a while and then they stopped showing people doing it. We had a season of it, or numerous games for sure, when it was shown. I think it went on for a couple of seasons though. I am not sure exactly when they stopped. We had it for a bit though where it was shown nationally on TV. MLB and NBA too. Heck it even happened with our women's national soccer team where a player or a few took a knee. It was televised all over the place for awhile there.

21. June 15, 2021: The Biden Administration announced expansion of the Central American Minors (CAM) program to broaden the list of illegal aliens who can sponsor family members through the program, including illegal aliens who claim asylum.
22. June 16, 2021: Attorney General Merrick Garland rescinded the Trump-era decision In Matter of L-E-A-, thereby expanding asylum eligibility to allow nuclear or immediate familial relationships to be treated as a “particular social group.”
23. June 16, 2021: Attorney General Merrick Garland rescinded the Trump-era decision in Matter of A-B I and A-B II, thereby expanding asylum eligibility to include gender and domestic relationships as certain social groups, reverting to policy under in Matter of A-R-C-G.
24. July 2021: The United States Border Patrol (USBP or BP) released at least 50,000 aliens without giving them a “Notice to Appear” (a court date), instead advising them to self-report to ICE on their own. Unsurprisingly, 87% of aliens fail to report.
25. Aug 5, 2021: The USBP authorized the use of parole plus alternatives to detention (ATD) in the Del Rio Border Sector.
26. Aug 17, 2021: DHS announced an expansion of alternatives to detention (effectively reinstating and expanding catch and release) and announced the expansion of taxpayer-funded services to illegal aliens in removal proceedings.
27. Aug 31, 2021: The Biden administration released over 100,000 aliens into the United States between March 21, 2021 and August 31, 2021, without giving these aliens a “Notice to Appear”, instead advising them to self-report to ICE on their own. Of those, nearly 50% of them did not check-in with ICE within the 60-day deadline.
28. Sep 24, 2021: The Administration falsely accused Border Patrol agents on horseback in Del Rio, Texas of whipping aliens at the border. President Biden condemned the agents, saying the aliens had been “strapped” and vowed “consequences.” Vice President Harris piled on the false allegations, comparing them to oppression and slavery. In fact, DHS Secretary Mayorkas knew the claim was false and even though the agents were exonerated in July 2022, the Administration proposed punishment for the agents.
29. Sep 30, 2021: DHS Secretary Mayorkas issued a memorandum that states “the fact an individual is a removeable [alien] should [not be the sole] basis of an enforcement action”, effectively using prosecutorial discretion to give deportable aliens a pass to stay in the United States, thereby granting a form of amnesty to many illegal aliens.
30. Fiscal Year 2021: Throughout Fiscal Year 2021, the Biden Administration distributed more than $300 million in federal law enforcement grants to Sanctuary Cities under SCAAP, Byrne, and COPS programs (amounting to 43% of total awards going to sanctuary cities), financially rewarding cities whose policies encourage illegal immigration.

This…. People that complain about trump can’t actually have enough though process to understand what is really going. This is coming from someone who voted Haley in the primary so I’m not exactly a trump guy. The reality is all of the above plus where the CPI is under this president, inflation, GDP, basically any metric of economic success is all at historic lows. Problem is most people that hate trump are clouded by data and revert back to name calling and whining versus actually understanding economics and policy impacts so we get stuck with uneducated people voting on emotion.

If you've noticed, anti-Biden people have actually moved away from those economy talking points in the last few months. Which is why there has been a sharp increase in focus on the border from those same sources.
Also it's kinda silly to say just one side is voting with emotion. The vast majority of voters on each side have an emotional sticking point they latch on to and vote based on that.

Because inflation is terrible or was. Its still not acceptable. Costs are high. Unemployment is great. GDP is great. Stock market solid. Bottom line is, the average person feels that things are expensive and it harder for them to make ends meet. The average American isnt happy. They feel trapped or pinched. I would hate to be looking to buy a home a now or dreaming about owning one.

number one economy in the world. We have come out of the post pandemic economy as the best in the world. Inflation has been a byatch but anyone could have predicted that when trying to restart an industrialized nation from a complete shutdown. Something about supply side economics and reestablishing the work force.

You try to help people be more informed but they just can’t when it comes to politics. Right or left data is data and democrats hate date. When it comes to economics there are several data points.
Inflation 2020 was 1.2 on average of year and from there 4.7, 8.0, and 4.1… turns out spending out of control impacts inflation.
CPI (for those that don’t know is a measure of consumer prices) percent change since 2020 to now… 1.4, 7.0, 6.5, and 3.4. For the less educated crowd here the higher the number the more expensive things are getting.
People may emotionally hate trump I get that but they also don’t vote informed on policy. One thing positive both sides can agree is Biden isn’t a liar… he ran on a policy that put us where we are depending on foreign fuels, bad inflation, terrible cost of living, unstable borders, unstable global geopolitical games, etc… and the average voter is ok with this. That is the problem here is people aren’t educated on policy of which their vote impacts all of us.

I am not a political person and do not appreciate anyone politicizing our National Anthem. It's disrespectful to those who fought and sometimes gave their lives for this country, which is represented by that flag and anthem. There are other avenues of expression.

As for the kneeling, these players have any number of ways to "use their platform" to get their message across. They choose to dissent in a way that is egregiously disrespectful to people who have sacrificed time, life and limb so that they can disagree. If they want to disagree, fine, it's their right. Just do it in a way that isn't so disrespectful.... They are constantly on TV and radio. They have a media that panders to their every whim. There are multiple social media platforms.
Then, there were all the "peaceful" protests 2 summers ago. The same protests that burned, destroyed and looted across most major cities of this country. I could go on, but I have to imagine you get the picture

The national anthem is not a song intended to honor our military so I'm not sure why people say it's disrespectful to them. Also TONS of veterans have spoken out in support of Kaepernick and other protesters.
