I can definitely see this is a just a promotion

by them...it's not about past performance....6 national titles in a row......playing for a seventh in a few weeks.....a .655% bowl win percentage by the conference since 2006 vs our .380 win percentage....it's all about promotion......

yeah but they don't tell you is that prior to the current 6 game streak, the SEC had only won 3 of the previous 16 national championships.
the SEC dominance has only coincided with ESPN's pimpage of them

If someone beats them, it'll stop.
Hard to argue when they win their OOC matchups, bowl games, and title matchups.

Yes, of course they realize this, but

they've also realized that the other 95% don't generate the same amount of cash.
This is a business, and the fact that you continue to watch or visit their site only further enriches ESPN. In fact, you've even offered them free advertising by linking to one of their articles.

You know, you don't HAVE to pull for Notre Dame. Just lie down, close your eyes, relax and sleep. It's painless and you'll love it. You'll be remade into something better. Your old self will be taken away and your new body will rise from your pod . . . and you'll be so-ooo happy! Nighty night, now.

Doesn't help that a lot of what they're saying is true. Still, they don't need to constantly harp on the conference stuff.

and the fact is SEC football brings in the crowd. It's a train that is picking up steam and the momentum is going to just increase because recruits see this as well. Look at the recruiting services at the end of the year...more than 1/2 of the top 10 will be SEC teams.

True but the greater the disparity of income to a conference, the more likely that conference is to be the best. You've got many mid-tier to bottom feeder SEC schools that are improving greatly (see South Carolina). Others such as Arkansas have faced tough times but still had a ton of money to steal a big name coach from another conference.
It's hard to see the SEC getting weaker anytime soon when teams can constantly shell out top dollar for their coaches. Auburn may've been doomed to sucking for 5-10 years in another conference, but because they have the money they were able to fire cheezwhiz after only 1 crappy season.

...and feel free to post the ACC's Bowl record over the same period. It has nothing to do with a "lovefest".
Better teams = better games = more viewers = more money.
How many TV sets you think will be tuned in to the Orange Bowl?
