If you want the most deserving, you put in Michigan, Washington, Texas, and FSU. They said they put the 4 best teams in but they didn't. You cannot tell me Georgia is not better than Washington and probably Texas. Also, you could make an argument that Ohio State would be favored over those two. Go ask Vegas who would be favored in multiple matchups with those two involved.

They keep saying it is not most deserving, but the 4 best teams. But you cannot look me in the face and tell me those are truly the 4 best teams. They decided to say, never mind, we will do neither and put in who we want to ($$$$$).

Yep. They ended up using some weird hybrid of criteria to try and justify one decision but ended up delegitimizing their other decisions by using it.... the committee has proven itself to be very inconsistent in their decision making and they need to answer some tough questions for the fans of teams in this conference

they can not come up with hard core, scientific, undisputable reasons so they have to come up with something.

7 teams had legitimate claims to 4 spots. Some 1 was going to lose and they had to find a way to justify it.

They eventually narrowed it down to Bama and FSU so had to come up with an excuse.

IF they Chose FSU the excuse would be they are undefeated. Bama lost game, FSU didn't.

IF they chose Bama it was because of an injured player.

NO matter which way they went we would be having these arguments. Some 1 would be outraged . People would be picking apart their logic, myself included.

I think they chose the lamest of the 2 reasons. They had no way to predict how FSU would game plan for the CFP. they used MISS CLEO reasoning to boot them. "our magical lexicons say FSU has no chance.... the almighty SEC has spoken"

they should have just stuck to the same old excuse. " FSU's record is better, but We think Bama 's record is stronger and that 1 loss was way back in September to the current #3 team"

FSU's anemic passing game in the ACC title game, one led by a QB who will be the backup in the bowls/playoffs. So it's not like they really went back and analyzed their win at Florida, with a starter who would have 3.5 weeks of practice before the bowl game.

Did any of you guys watch FSU’s last two games. They’re on QB3 and cannot pass the ball. I don’t think they should be ranked top 10

i ddnt know you were required to pass for a certain amount of yards

Vegas out-Vegas'd the Committee. You and I both know those lines they set are an attempt to get half the money one way and the other half the other way, based on public perception. It's the tail waggin' the dog. ESPN screams that Bama is better than FSU, public perception changes, the Committee believes Bama is better than FSU, and just like that... Bama is now better than FSU. And they never had to take one snap to achieve that victory.

Hang 'em all.

Georgia disgust me; but if we saying who should get a shot!

How do you penalize Georgia for a "Championship game loss" that was close?

I think Georgia would beat Texas. I think they would beat Alabama more times than they would lose to them if they played 5 times.

I strongly almost 100% believe they would not just beat Michigan; but embarrass them. The entire Big 10 wasn't very good. Iowa who struggles mightily on offense was your west champion and representer. Iowa was at or near the bottom of a number of offensive categories. But we give Michigan a ton of credit for beating up on them. How many 6-3 or 10-3 wins did Iowa have this season? Illinois at one point was in contention. Stop it with Michigan - that's people looking at the "ghost" of the program. Or the Bo Schembechler, Loyd Carr, Charles Woodson, Tom Brady having played there thing. They beat up on some weak teams (I know they said the same thing about Clemson - difference being when we play SEC teams even if we didn't win, they don't steam roll our butts). We compete.

It was the same thing we as Clemson fans have felt; is what it seemed to me: Georgia fatigue.

The powers that be know that variety keeps eyeballs watching and interested.

If you are talking the best teams - no doubt they should have been among them with "1 championship game loss"! To the #8 ranked team. Texas lost to #12 at the time Oklahoma.

Yeah texas was a 7pt dog the first time they played bama. I do not see a clear favorite in the top 7 except fsu. Anyone can beat one another.

Whenever something inexplicable happens, I always like to look for who can gain financially. Here are 3 ways Florida State (and the ACC) were or will be financially damaged by the Committee's unprecedented decision:

1) Immediately, the ACC will receive $2,000,000 less revenue due to not having a participant in the CFP.

2) Some recruits will decide to not play at ACC schools because they "want to win a national championship." Right or wrong, there is now precedent that even the best team in the ACC is not eligible to win a national championship by winning football games. This will inevitably cause a death spiral for the conference as a whole as talent levels drop and the ability gap to compete widens.

3) Media organizations that have invested in the SEC will be able to continue their narrative that it just means more. Their advertising revenue is secure as they have proven their product will, at all costs, be featured on the biggest platforms.

As a Clemson fan, I'm watching on in horror, fully understanding that this not only could've happened to us (missing the playoffs), but it IS happening to us (financial shenanigans, loss of future opportunity, diminished value to recruits). I strongly suspect that I'm not alone in this assessment and those in power at the impacted institutions will quickly organize an investigation and legal action against those parties that stand to gain from this injustice.

Wasn't Cole Stoudt a back-up QB who wound up as the Orange Bowl (I think) MVP after three weeks of coaching up prior to the bowl game.

Oh wait ...... that can't be true because we know that 2nd string QB's can't win high level football games.
