meaning when the team has a chance to put itself in a better position and enhance its post-season resume, they fail to take advantage (e.g., last Saturday's loss to NC State). With five games remaining (FSU, Pitt, at Notre Dame, Syracuse, and at Wake Forest), there are golden opportunities to quiet some of that talk. Hopefully, this time, CBB and the team will be able to seize the opportunity.

We SHOULD win 4 of 5 of those given opponents and location.

Correct. At Wake is a probable loss. As bad as Clemson has played at home this season, the Tigers would be fortunate to split Pitt and FSU.

Brownlee is going 4 and 1 in those last 5 . . . . but I DO love your optimism.

So Clemson is the only team which experiences upsets or does not play at their highest level every outing? Wow, who knew?

For reference, since Brad Brownell's first year in 2010, the average winning percentage for a team favored going into their respective game is 71.32%. Clemson is just above the median, as we are in the 54th percentile among all 362 schools with a 185-69 (72.8%) record during that time as a favored school.
Among Power 5 schools though, the average winning percentage as a favored school going into the respective game since 2010 is 77.1%. Sadly, Clemson is in the 10th percentile in winning percentage as a favored school. Very few Power 5 schools have a worse record as a favored school since 2010. One fun fact though is that South Carolina has the worst record as a favored team in that time.

And yet, they made a trip to the Final Four in 2017, then fired that coach a few years later.

FSU at home Saturday, big opportunity

for the team/staff/coach to come together and show just how good this team can be.
Last weekend home game with NCSU was about as poorly played last 10 minutes that I can remember. Yes they made some plays, but multiple times the team simply did not convert opportunities or dribbled themselves into trouble rather than actually running any semblance of a play. Frustrated, pissed, angry, click all those boxes for me.
Now it is a new week, team blew out Ga Tech which was nice to see and now this FSU game looms large. Home game, pretty good FSU team who our Tigers have already beat so they will be looking to come back stronger and beat us....
Plus it keeps Tigers in a spot to possibly get a #4 seed in ACC tourney... Go Tigers!!

I'd be ecstatic if we could win 4 put of 5, but I think reality says 3 out of 5. Should still put us in a good position for NCAA Tourney.

to really solidify a spot in the NCAAT without needing a win or two in the ACCT.
That said, winning out and potentially earning that double bye in the ACCT would be a nice punctuation to the regular season.

We're 3-2 in the last 5 with 5 games remaining.
Best we've ever done in the last 10 years in the last 10 conference games is 6-4.
We could easily match that and might exceed it.
So while I'd love to win them all, going 3-2 in the next 5 is pretty good.
4-1 is unlikely and 2-3 would be slightly disappointing but not the end of the world.
