It comes down to whether or not our coaches call a loose or tight game.***

Let me rephrase that.

IF the players are on their A game, AND the coaches aren’t too conservative, we could win this game.

Yes, TX is a team we are unlikely to have a 14-17 point lead against at any time, so hopefully the offense AND defense will keep a high level of (smart) aggressiveness (instead of shutting it down and trying to protect a one score lead the whole 4th qtr.)

That’s the truth. I’m more concerned with coaches than players.

RU4GOD2, you are exactly right!! Our players have been handicapped by poor coaching for years but especially this year. Let em play coach! Stop trying to micromanage every play and just let em play and have some fun. You got em playing in straight jackets, especially when they get a lead. Let em go!!

Lots of nerves in conservative Offensive play calling and only playing an injured Mafah (doing no favors for Mafah and allowing no experience for backup RB's.) And a fear of unpredictable blitzing on Defense. Clemson's Offense, Defense and Special Teams can be formulaic - what opposing coaches and players see on video before the game is likely what they get on Saturdays vs. Tigers.
Hopefully, Dabo and coaches bring some schematic surprises beyond gimmicky end-around passes.

Why would anyone want to play tight ? That has beem their problem all season, they get ahead and then blow it, playing "not to lose" not "playing to win". Could write a book.

I don't know about anyone else but don't you kind of hate the tired old saying of "all the pressure is on them?"
This is a huge game for our program and not one to be taken flippantly. We will have plenty of pressure to perform and show the nation that Clemson hasn't left the building.

I don’t know. In this case I think it applies. All the expectations are on TX. We already proved we aren’t gone yet by winning the ACC and making the playoffs again. No one expects us to win except the guys in the Clemson locker room. I’m sure they are showing up to win the game, but no one outside of Clemson and a few fans think we are quite all the way back for that to happen.

I agree w most of your posts here.. offense goes conservative w lead…prob wont have a significant one but it is possible…so dont do conservative tomorrow at all unless its working…running game averaging 4-5 yds play…then ok.
D has been playing aggressive but getting gassed in 4th but also can play great run D sporadically…so don’t quit the 4th and play solid gap protection …get 2-3 pics on Ewers and it will be a game we can brag about win or lose…and we can win!
Go Tigers!!

Need to keep a man running after Ewers butt all game long, don't let up on him at all, a few good hits on him will get him rattled and he will hurry up his throws=interceptions.
