Not sure this has been talked about enough with all our other issues but I believe we have regressed in our strength program the past few years. Do any of our insiders have any insight about his replacement? In house or national search hire?

Our players have experienced. I have said it for years that they did not have the strength trading they should have.

Do we have more injuries than other teams?

No, no we don’t.
That said, I’m very encouraged about a change in S&C. We need to be sure we are using all the modern techniques that everyone is using, and Dabo needs to accept it.

This should be a national search. In my opinion, I believe that part of our injury problems and lack of strength and explosion can be traced to our off season and in season training programs.

don’t have any more football injuries than anyone playing this violent sport. You only think that because you’re focused on us. Yes, it’s football, and guys get banged up. Everywhere.
I mean, how would one even be more prone to getting injured by virtue of S&C? Blowout a knee - S&C? Nah. A hamstring? Nah. A neck? Nope. What else, and how would you or anyone attribute those injuries to something in S&C?
Now don’t get me wrong, I have long questioned our S&C program. To me and many others more familiar with the game, like I assume you are by your handle, we just aren’t not as big as the better teams. Even when we were winning at the highest level, the teams we were playing like Ohio State and Alabama, and Oklahoma, and Notre Dame etc, they were all thicker than us. We were able to win because we had tremendous skill at QB and WR and RB, but when we ran into that being stopped, we got pushed around when the game became a physical battle. All the elite teams look more physically developed than us. The guys along the LOS always seem to have thicker lower bodies. I could go on and on with these types of observations, but it’s the same as today - when our skill isn’t performing, teams are often able to manhandle us. Me personally coming from a physical era of football, I hate that.
Something is different on that area. I dot. Know if it’s methods or supplements or whatever, but teams are growing their dudes differently.
Two things that must change if we aren’t going to get Trevor Lawrence and Deshaun Watson every year - we gotta practice more physically and we must get stronger.
Sorry I went off on that. Point is, I’m looking forward to a new voice and direction in S&C, but o don’t think we are seeing any more injuries than anyone else due to S&C.

I do agree with your assessment of changing S&C along with the way we approach practice. I think in doing these things, we will see fewer injuries, stronger and more explosive players, and more physical OL and DL. If you are going to be successful on any level of football, you must be able to run the ball and stop the run when it comes “nut cutting time”!

Effective SC programs SIGNIFICANTLY reduce injuries. Most of these kids come from HS sc programs that do not harp on fconnector muscles, compound movements specifically for their position, etc. Muscles are what stabilizes joints.
That’s just the strength part. Conditioning correctly enhances flexibility. A conditioned body is a more rested body relative to wiped out. Fatigued bodies do not move as well. The body and mind get lazy. More injuries occur.
They also work on balance in the muscle groups. Imvbalances cause injury.
You’re nowhere close to being correct

Ligaments and tendons strength is a thing as well. Most think they are what they are. Couldn’t be further from the truth. The correct exercises at the correct speed with proper form=stronger ligaments and tendons. Incorrect and it’s the opposite. Some exercises can promote explosive strength through a range of motion for a certain position but won’t develop tendons or stabilizer muscles. It’s a delicate balance
