What to make of him?

Most, I assume, are saying "bust". I mean, is that it? Is he? Anyone still haging on to "he hasn't been in the right system with a coach that can bring out of him the very best"?

I'm leaning bust--but I also feel conflicted. Haha!

Thoughts?

It happens....for the better and sometimes it happens for the worse. Russell Wilson comes to mind.... great in Seattle... didn't do good at all in Denver....went through the motions in Pittsburgh.

Matthew Stafford.....did all he could for Detroit.. game after game... after game.......and he had some head scratching moments. Stafford gets to the LA Rams......... Super Bowl.

It's pretty simple. If you're a good enough athlete you can get away with never really learning the game even at the college level. No one's a good enough athlete to get away without learning the game in the NFL.

He’s just a tweener. In college he could make it work with athleticism. But in the pros he doesn’t quite have the right skill set to play a position. He’s got strengths at 2-3 spots but the opposing talent exposes the weaknesses.

Exactly this. He was an elite 1% level athlete in college. In the pros he's probably a top 20% athlete. But elite athleticism can only get you so far if your technique is crap and you can't process things quickly on the field.

I was excited for him to play for the Giants and was surprised it didn't work out for him. They had him as a FS/OLB like at clemson.

He's played for multiple teams, so multiple schemes and defensive coordinators.

It's very simple. He has terrible eyes and can't read opposing offenses, both in the run game and the pass game. He often takes himself out of plays because of this.

He excelled at Clemson because of his versatility and athleticism, but those advantages minimize at the NFL level.

He's a bust because of how high he was drafted, just like Clelin Ferrell.

got traded. The TLDR was that he just never grasped the mental side of the game and busted assignments all the time.
