Is this the most active the portal will ever be? Since the players can only

transfer once as an undergrad (sitting out a year if transferring a second time), I have to believe that there will be alot of players realize that staying put is in their best interest going forward.

Transferring right now is seen as THE thing to do...It also is exciting for the players, and the feeling of being wanted and being in the news is something that young people enjoy. I hope, though, with some hindsight and other players's experiences that in the next year and coming years, the transfer numbers will be much lower...maybe I am naive to think that players will learn that jumping around maybe isn't the best thing to do...

Maybe it will continue to be like this from here-on-out, but seems like there are only so many folks who will transfer and start elsewhere. I really don't get a "lateral" move like going from Bama to OSU unless there is an obvious void in a roster where PT will be there waiting for you OR the player is getting paid to sit. The thought that as a player I'll get more views from the NFL if I transfer to ___ University only work if you fit in right away and start. I absolutely understand transferring "up" in divisions or from Go5 to P5.

Maybe it's the NIL forcing their hand to move, but again...there's only 25-ish starting spots on a team.

It's been my view for a while that this current model is not sustainable and is setting the kids up for failure. I am sure there is a thought when being recruited that "I'll just go to school X, and if you don't like it, then transfer"...that works - once. From the school's side, chasing the limited number of worthwhile guys in the portal seems like a fool's endeavor. Clemson's philosophy may be frustrating, but I get it...build a stronger team of guys who will be here a while and don't chase your tail following the wandering minds of 19 year olds....(I do hope we'd at least look at that California QB)...

But this endless ticker-tape of transfers is kind of annoying but intriguing to me to see how it's all going to play out.

Go Tigers!

As time moves on.. I think there will be some cautionary tales that will give kids a little more pause than the last few years....
However we are still talking about 18-22 year olds and until the tampering thing is addresses... you will still have promises of everything floating around luring kids to do it.
At some point, the stability that Clemson has offered.. and its loyalty to its roster... will pay off in some way I think.
Its certainly hard to see FSUs empty slots getting filled up with Bama transfers.
