Was he even on the field much in the 2nd half? I saw a steady dose of Ray Ray and Cain

I kept hoping to see him. I think it's a combination of Peake not getting open and DW4 having issues with location of the ball. DW4 had too many issues IMO, but the UL D really surprised most of us. They actually played like they wanted that game. Very few mistakes. But I sure missed seeing Peake more. He is a game changer IMO.

And the great catch on the sideline when he got popped.
But for all we know we did wrong, you're right to give cred to Louisville's Defense. They played a heck of a game.
Weve got to keep trying to stretch the field

At this point in time Peake and Hopper are not game chngers. This open date should help both. I think the younger guys Mccloud, Renfro, Cain want it more They need to give those guys more playing time.

scheming us last night. They intentionally over-sold and took away the long pass from us; they dared us to run and hit the perimeters, which we did. We won. Game over.

except one play. I said in a thread last might, sometimes you gotta go a Malzahn on them and run the same play over and and over until they stop it.

Peake should move back to is original postion. He just isn't a number 9 wr. Thompson and Cain are much better options there.

There was double coverage all night on deep men(why Watson was unsuccessful most times on deep throws) They played their faster linebackers for more help on coverage and the front four were actually very good if you watch technique. They constantly blitzed outside of the tackles which is why Gallman had such success up the middle and why the read option plays didn't look so hot. Peake and Hopper were constantly under double sometimes triple coverage and once Watson saw or was told this by guys upstairs, he made adjustments. This was a great learning game for the Offense because the next few teams we play will run this type of scheme to shut us down but it won't work if we use those slots and TEs more. Our defense can allow the offense to learn, which a few years ago, wasn't available because it would be 3 and out and half the quarter before our offense would get on the field.

i think coaches took him out because he's not there mentally. I don't think Watson can trust him to run the routes or fight for the jump balls like Mike Williams used to so he doesn't throw to him in those pressure situations. I watched him play at the app state game and noticed a lackluster attitude early in that game after he ran the wrong route a couple times. He would walk back to huddle slow and the body language showed he gets down on himself or his qb. He then picked it up later when the game was in hand but last night showed me that our coaches,qb, etc didn't think he was performing up to snuff. I say start Cain at 1 and Peake at slot again or at 2
