Bend but don't break. Works against teams that aren't disciplined and lack speed, not a fan of this style bc it allows the other teams to control the pace of the game.

Last night at FSU on both of their passing touchdown there was no pressure for their QB to have to move a step. Therefore he could just wait in place until their receivers were slightly open. Pressure causing him to move could have possibly prevented him from completing both of those scores. To me this is on Wes not coming up with some way to pressure the QB.

A lot of teams have just been utilizing a quick pass game. Hard to get pressure when qbs are getting the ball out quick. Outside of nc state to an extent and UGA really hasn’t been effective. FSU did try and take shots and I felt we got good pressure. I notice multiple times we had dline players bulldozing the oline. Throwing them right on there back. We definitely don’t have a Vic Beasley or a Shaq Lawson who will absolutely take a game over from a pass rush. Parker is getting there. Our next best player to get to the quarterback seems to be Barrett Carter, with designed blitz.

That and my lord the holdingasy night by their LT. Like, seriously, Lawson's jersey was probably so stretched out it would have fit Tre Williams. There were several plays that they even tackled him and took him down. I'll say this, he still needs to put on some size, but he has solid potential as a speed rusher.

Yep. On many plays the opposing qbs are indeed getting rid of the ball very quickly for short passes. It doesn't do a lot of damage. The Tigers just need to make sure they don't get sucked in and become vulnerable to stuff over the top. But I think it's also true that our current Dline is more like 2019 rather than 2018. CBV dialed up the blitzes in '19. Worked against every team except LSU. Wes may need to try more of this against the weaker competition.

We don't have the difference makers to generate a rush with only 4 players***

There is definitely a talent drop-off overall compared to the power ranger, however I think it’s more of a LB issue than anything.

We are playing a 4-2-5 because we have no real depth at LB

It’s a depth and overall talent problem at DE . Woods playing DE is obviously by necessity. The Middle is good - very good. Lbs are sufficient- Good. We need an upgrade at DE . If we can somehow attract some quality DEs our D in coming years will be very good.

Yup all true. We need better DE depth

I was thinking back when BV was here we’d get pressure with 4 at times but it was the fear or the blitzing LB that would cause confusion, or in a lot of cases the actual blitzing LB that caused pressure.
