Is this not the worst interstate section in tbe country? Charlotte to Greenville. Makes these away games to NC miserable!!

Had to come to Greenville 2 Fridays ago from Charlotte. 85 was dang near a parking lot near gaffney. Granted a lot of traffic from 40, 26 and other roads closed post Helene. However that's a miserable drive anyway.

How can that one section near Gaffney and Cowpens always be under construction? It seems it's been that way forever. We drove to Wake and back yesterday. That area was the worst!

I-77 is a mess too. It is all the freight traffic diverting around the closures of I-40 and I-26. Not getting better anytime soon unfortunately.

that should be just 2 lanes.
All Interstates should be a minimum of 3 lanes, regardless of the location.

The stretch from Spartanburg through Gaffney Northbound has improved a lot from what it was. The bulk of the work seems to be happening now on the Southbound side. Going to be nice when they get all six lanes opened up.
The stretch from Gastonia to 485 is what I hate the most. The traffic merging onto 85 South from 485 bottle necks and causes slowdowns and back ups. They need to fix that. Gastonia traffic on 85 is the worst part of Charlotte.

My understanding the The Gaffney part is taking so long because every interchange had to be totally redone. Archaic. They had not been touched since the interstate was built.

I 80 in Nebraska is pretty bad, I-10 from NOLA to Houston is also awful.
Every time I come home and I go from 20 to 85 I just let out a little scream. It is bad.

You may want to complain about Mother Nature, but I am pretty satisfied with her work (with the rare exception).

Not even close. 95, especially the Richmond to NYC stretch, is horrific on a level 85 can only dream of.

I doubt it's worse than I-35 between San Antonio and Dallas. Friends don't let friends drive on I-35.
