Interesting information about the BOT meeting at FSU tomorrow.

Note: I am only posting this here because it seems most certain that the meeting has some impact on conference realignment. So, I assume some here might be interested as that affects Clemson.
This is what I am hearing tonight.
1. The announcement about the BOT meeting was sent to various sports organizations (media and social media) by the Sports Information Department, not by the office of the President, who usually announces special BOT meetings.
2. There will be a Q and A session after the meeting.
This is leading several people to speculate that this will be more than just a meeting where the BOT says they are exploring ways to see if it is feasible to investigate possible avenues to challenge the GOR. (Or some word salad like that.)
It has also been noted that Andrea Adelson, ESPN reporter, has been in Tallahassee since the day before national signing day. That seems to be an unusual assignment for her. And, she didn't leave town. She is still there.
I have no idea what will happen tomorrow. Just relaying what I think is accurate information. The part that makes me wonder is why would they announce there will be a Q and A opportunity for the media?

You still need an invite before you can leave and I believe no ACC teams have an invite.

I don't think you need an invite to leave the conference. Besides, maybe they do and we don't know it yet

Incorrect. You have to officially exit the current conference before an invitation can officially be extended by another conference.
Anyone contemplating a move would know their landing spot ahead of time because conferences and universities speak to each other through unofficial intermediaries.
FSU is preparing to leave.

You haven’t been paying attention. That’s not how this works. It’s not how it works for OU and Texas either. You announce you are leaving your respective conference then you get an invite. The non official is don’t behind closed doors.

So you don’t think the question is asked if mutual feelings are there before you go down the road of challenging a 300-500 million dollar deal. Really?

I was responding to tigergreat who claimed they didn’t have an invite. I don’t know how he could know that information.
With this kind of money on the line OF COURSE FSU, or anyone else, would know they have a landing spot before proceeding.

It’s not that easy. The GOR has to be challenged in court. The ACC knew this was coming. It’s why they added the teams to survive. Also gives you some idea that they think there is a possibility they will get out of it in court. This will cost the ACC millions. It will also likely put any negotiations with ESPN for the added teams on hold. They will have to fight multiple court battles at the same time. Each school only has to pay for their own. I suspect Clemson will not wait for an out come before filing. With a declaratory judgment they can always decide to stay in the ACC and not pay. They will file in Pickens and let the chips fall where they may.

Your realignment contributions to this board. I hope you guys have a way out and a landing spot. And I hope that we are not far behind.

But I also heard umpteen zillion times that an undefeated power five conference champ will not be left out of the playoff. Period. Guaranteed. Take it to the bank. Only an idiot would disagree. Etc.
So who knows?

I still say that FSU should sue the ACC for failure to enforce all members adequately invest in their FB programs. Essentially, breach of contract by the failing members to actively fulfill their part of the agreement. Do I have proof of that...no. But I bet a simple investigation will prove this. We can't have freeloaders and loadstones benefitting from the effort of other universities but demand that FSU and Clemson promise to limit our upside potential by continuing to participate in a failed negotiated contract.

FSU BOT is constant clown show ringing out their own dirty laundry in the public square. Embarrassing.
