Church Gameday Parking Downtown

Oct 21, 2015, 3:49 PM

Do any downtown churches offer gameday parking anymore? I used to park behind Peppino's (now under construction), but it's harder and harder to find non-reserved parking on gameday that's convenient to campus or downtown.

Anybody have a preferred spot? Seems that random patches of grass/sidewalk on 93 or College Ave are used, but I can't figure out the pattern/locations.

the church across from Riggs field offers gameday parking, but it's 1st come, 1st serve. Some even have season reserved parking, but it's where I have friends park that don't have parking passes. Excellent location

That is Holy Trinity Episcopal

I think they primarily sell season passes but may also have some game-day available.

In the Bible, Jesus freaked out about Church parking.

Oct 21, 2015, 3:57 PM

He like knocked over tables and screamed at everybody for using Church parking lots for profit and entertainment.

He said something like "YOU BETTER PARK IN THE ******* MUD!!! BECAUSE YOU WILL PARK NOT IN GOD'S LOT!!!!!

The difference, my friend, is that the money-changers in the temple were enriching themselves personally using God's house. The funds raised by Holy Trinity support church programs.

We purchase season parking at the Presbyterian church. They have 4 or 5 lots in total I believe.

First Baptist on College Avenue has gameday parking

Oct 21, 2015, 4:31 PM

First Baptist Church gameday parking can be accessed from either College Avenue or Sloan Street right next to the downtown parking garage. If you park there, you may use the restroom facilities inside the building. It's a fundraiser for the church youth. Their price is reasonable and the proceeds are used for youth mission trips.
The parking is game by game, so you don't have to have a season parking pass.

I used to park on campus right off cherry road in the grassy area next to the greenhouses.

Some sell season parking passes while others allow you to pay to park on game day.
