The way guys are moving on and the fact that FSU has signed no one from the portal makes me excited about their potential next season (sorry Bret)..
Go Tigers!

Portal won't be over until after Spring practice. Lots of 2nd stringers wanting to be 1st string somewhere else.

They will be able to reload before the end of May graduation.

If I were a rich FSU booster with a million to contribute, pretty sure I would rethink things going forward. After seeing the current crop of paid for players leave my school hanging on one of biggest stages in CFB, I would want to focus my funds on HS players or invest in other interests.

Solution: put a post season play requirement in NIL agreement. Breach of contract results in being sued.

I don't know much about FSU but I know after the Cotton Bowl many fans are extremely over Ryan Day...McCord transferred because he wanted to remain the starter but Day told him there would be competition...This was Hartline's second season as OC but many believe he has yet to call a play because Day is too paranoid but who knows...He definitely needs Hartline for recruiting....Day is given another year to straighten out his mess because OSU is currently in a transition for a new president & next summer getting a new AD..
I don't think it's going to matter because he doesn't place enough importance on the trenches like Tressell & Meyer did & many don't care for him because he simply is not from Ohio as the previous two...This was his first HC job in anything...He is a good man but like many say Soft & puckers up in big games....Frankly I knew just as someone previously mentioned...The program would be on a decline once Meyer's players were gone and Day had to hire coaches of his own..The DL coach Larry Johnson has been a great coach and recruiter but he is ready to retire so probably losing some interest.
The QB coming in is a young man named Air Noland from Georgia...I am guessing the young man is very good but people are spoiled after Fields and Day..That's one thing that hurt McCord...and depending on a true freshman is very risky....I've heard rumors a deal is in place to get the QB from Kansas St. but I guess we'll see...Ohio St will be good but. as has been shown if you don't have a qb then you are in trouble

I've been assuming Ohio State has a plan at QB that does not

involve the 3rd stringer that played the other night. They let their starter leave for Syracuse. He wouldn't have done that had he thought he would still be playing at OSU next year. IMO Day likely had a chat with him and told him he might want to look elsewhere.
That being said, they haven't a QB from the portal yet which is a bit surprising. They do have a pretty highly rated HS kid coming in next year, but I find it hard to believe they would put of their eggs in that basket.

I'm surprised Ohio State hasn't settled at QB yet

Oregon getting both Dillion Gabriel and Dante Ward whacked things up for everyone else.
If Cam Ward actually decides to go pro, then Ohio State, Miami and FSU are both cooked for next year.
Ohio State will be loaded and might be able to win the B1G, but they won't win a 12-team playoff with mediocre QB play.

Neither will Clemson without consistent QB, OL and WR play.

Ohio State will be good. They will be solid. FSU, not so much.

I've been predicting a decline for Ohio State since Urban Meyer left. This was Ryan Day's 1st full season without recruits from the Urban Liar regime. There is already a talent gap and development gap between those former coaches and the current staff. Also this was the first season Cryin' Ryan Day did not have Kevin Wilson on staff as the offensive mastermind in the background (Kevin Wilson schemed and planned offensively, but Day took the credit. When Kevin Wilson was fired from Indiana, Meyer called him the next day and offered him a job, Meyer recognized his coaching talent and experience, i.e. Stoops era at Oklahoma.) I do think Hartline was a wise promotion by Day, but I also think he was adding insulation between himself and the offense by publicly declaring another coach had play calling duties, which Day previously took credit for. He knew beforehand that he was going to need a "fall guy" but also someone he had confidence in because he could no longer ride the coat tails of Meyer and Wilson. I've also heard that Ohio States defensive coordinator may be considering retirement, but don't know if that is factual. That would be another major adjustment heading into 2024.
FSU has relied too much on the portal, unless they reload considerably I don't think they will recover from this years personal losses. Too much annual turnover will cause inconsistencies in the program and lead to roller coaster seasons, I see them being more of a 7-9 win team next year.

From conversations with OSU fans, they are all dying for the administration to bring in Mike Vrabel to replace Day. They apparently despise Day regardless of his on-field results. He won't survive that job even if he keeps winning.

Bucknuts??? I cheer for them to suffer.
Criminoles??? Whatever they can do to help Clemson, I’ll be in favor of that.
