I wonder where are sacks going to come from this season? Let's just assume Duke, CHS Southern, and FAU don't posses elite OL's.

It's like we have forgotten how to rush the passer.

When Marion Hobby left for the NFL out DE's stopped producing sacks in large numbers, and then disappeared. Post BV, the rest of defense seems to have followed-suit.

against great DLs. Only way we get sacks is to build up the early lead against teams that try and think they can come back with slinging the ball on deep routes. Otherwise those #s will be down regardless. We saw that last year also. Tight games, most teams aren't going to put themselves at risk of a TO/big play from our D. They are going to run the ball/quick throw/screen game to slow down the rush, condense the game and hope to pull it out/we shoot ourselves in the foot. They couldn't play that game when our O was elite. We have more of a chance at sacks against FSU than we will have had 1st 3 games because they have confidence that they can match up at the LOS plus a mobile qb who thinks he can escape anything. Don't know how many we get but will probably be more than the first 3 games. Get the O clicking and a lot of the D TFL/Sack #s start coming back as the games play calling can change for both teams.
