I was fine with Goodwin for the first few years because the defense was still really good even if they were slightly regressing each year. This year though? Yikes... unacceptable even. It has been very suspect all year but this is horrendously bad. Especially considering our entire football history has been built by our defense. You can't defend this. I know we are thin at D-line and young in some areas but this cannot happen ever. We can't even tackle correctly.

I’m with tigerforlife28. The defense has been suspect all season. We’ve just out matched our opponents in the wins. Absolutely no excuse for the way Louisville ran on us tonight. Lord I hope Godwin’s gone soon. He might know schemes but he doesn’t know heart and aggression.

The first 2 years there was still a lot of Venables influence on how the defense played I think. What we are seeing now is a true Jonah Hill led defense...

You don't know Dabo if you think he is firing Wes after this season. I provide you Thomas Austin, Grisham, and Richardson as all examples of coaches who have been or were around too long.

I would have to agree. Our DC is also some who never played. It’s great to be an analyst and break down film for a living. But it is 1000% better to have someone who has made a tackle and/or taken a hit (I played college football so y’all don’t come at me) to get kids motivated.
I’ve been a Dabo guy since 2008 (and always will) but I see some similarities between what he is doing now and how the coaching staff where I played has done for years.
Tired of bs tunnel and hitch screens and off-end linebacker blitzes that basically take the majority of your athletes out of the play.
I realize I never get on here and will get called a Coot or TD’d….but just thought I’d put my $2 in.

He’s nothing more than a signal caller. Just stands on the sideline with his hand up, gives a signal, then bends over to look like he’s analyzing the play. Looks like he’s just trying to play the part.
But no. He’ll be talked up as a genius that all of these other places and NFL teams want. He’s an analyst. Nothing more.
