Last year the coaching on offense was bad, especially at OL.
Since then, Dabo has replaced several coaches, the most important being Matt Luke. I've posted about him being one of Dabo's best hires since Venables. I'm sure you can find it, I know you like searching through my posts.

First of all, I said the hires of Riley and Luke were good. Go searching through my posts. Prior to the 2023 season, Dabo said that he believed he had a national championship roster. So naturally, I found “Our staff is probably as good as it's ever been" to be a ridiculous statement when we were eliminated from the playoffs in September. The staff was inferior to the 2016-2018 staffs.
You know who else didn't believe “Our staff is probably as good as it's ever been"? Dabo Swinney.
That's why he fired several coaches in December 2023.

But often I find it difficult to make definitive judgments about assistant coaches being bad hires, as there is so much behind the scenes that I don't know about. I did finally come to the conclusion that Streeter was seemingly doing a poor job, but even that conclusion was based on the (uncertain assumption) about who was doing the play-calling and offensive game-planning. Whoever it was was terrible, but was it Streeter, or Dabo's parameters, or some combo of both? Dunno. I have my opinions, but I don't know for sure. Same w/ Riley last year.
But given the stale, predictable play-calling tendencies and game management practices of the last few years (including vs. Ga this yr)- it's hard to untangle what was Dabo, Streeter, Riley, or some combo thereof. But two things are certain:
1) Even if an assistant coach is the direct and primary problem, this always falls on the HC to fix, and thus so long as the problem festers beyond it's initial manifestation, then the HC is either solely or jointly at fault.
2) To cite the improvement of the last two weeks does not negate the reality of the struggles that preceded it. An improved trajectory does not render former shortcomings as illusory, or false claims.
