Facing a very intimidating crowd Saturday night. The offense hasn't done well at all this year on the road. At home we have beaten two ranked programs in three weeks. Both Notre Dame and UNC are just better than South Carolina. But those games were in the Valley. This game will be in the hornets nest. Can Cade handle it?

Maybe we will be smart enough to lean on the 2 back set and run the #### ball.

I agree. Line up and run it as much as possible. Pass it just enough to keep them honest.

The coots rush defense is horrible, with that being said, all we have to do is feed the ball to Mafah all night long.

If they load the box Riley will absolutely decimate them with tunnel screens.

Lol that's sarcasm I hope. A big reason those screens don't work is bc the wrs don't block them well at all. If they load the box I'd hope they would find a way to get #6, 9, and 10 in space or 1v1.

It was awful last year as well. Hopefully we can capitalize on the passing game to open up the run game

Their rush defense is better than their pass rush.

If we punch UofSC in the mouth, their team along with their fans will quit and head for Five Points.

It's our home away from home. We have a winning record there. Last game there we won 30-0.

His confidence level has grown steadly this season.

I know he started out like DJ Ewe with crossing routes missing because neither could hit a latterly moving target. Neither could effectively run the RPO and both bailed out of the pocket after staring at their primary receiver so long they didn't have time to find their secondary.
If you'll remember, Each game Cade did better and better at hitting those crossing routes on the fly. Only a few were subjects of an interception from being behind the receiver or the ball going over their heads.
Early those were hook routes which called for the receiver to stop and more than often led to 0-twoish yds after the catch. Cade hit three of those on the money which left the receiver running at speed and...that had to be addressed by ND's defense.
He hit several against GT without turning the ball over again and we ran over them. I saw two unusual things in the UNC game. Cade hit a secondary receiver and ran two option reads, it appeared. Both were successful but they might have been called as played from the sideline.
Cade is going to be a monster next season. My biggest disappointment is that he didn't take the start early last year. We might not have won as many games but would have been extraordinary this season.

Cade's current trajectory has him pointed at being an above average QB next year - He can lead the offense if we keep the running game working.
For Cade to become any kind of monster, the entire offense will have to become significantly better - and Cade will have to show that he can be the man.
I certainly hope that this will happen, but the evidence is slim for it so far.

he's a gunslinger without the ammunition on the outside right now. Once defenses have to respect the deep ball the entire offense will open up and this kid will look like a monster.

I'm not concerned bc I believe they will keep it simple and try to bully SCAR like they did 2 years ago. This year Goodwin will have his guys ready and there won't be any heroics from Rattler or surprise formations or tempo that catch Goodwin and his defense.
Cade just needs to hit his layups and extend a handful of drives when needed(using his legs imo)

No fake punk, no problem with beating these guys.
Also, no Cade runs with no timeouts in the red zone. That should cover the goober plays.

I may be totally wrong but I think Cade just needs a quarterback whisperer, like David Cutcliff for a few weeks. He is trying too hard to do too much. He needs to just relax and let the game come to him and it will. Had DJ and the receivers been better and not hurt last year he would have gotten more reps and this year would have gone better. Personally I would have put him in more last year to get experience even if maybe risking a loss but I am not the coach and the future hall of fame coach knows more football than I can ever hope to even read about. Cade just needs to gain about 20 lbs and get a little more nasty and improve his decision making AND get to the point the team votes him as captain and we will see an all-ACC season next year and a good shot at making the playoffs. I am sure Vizzina is going to push him too and that will help.

Vizzina was super raw coming out of hs imo. Has the best Arm on the team now but I'm thinking he might need more than a year to get on the field. The Hebert kid looks significantly more polished imo, probably alot to do with who coaches him (his private QB coach's are the same group that coached Watson).

Speaking of qb whisperers, when watching DJU against Washington the other night, it appeared to me that someone figured out that he is less distracted when under center. Seemed as if he was too distracted/anxious when in shotgun formation looking over the defense those extra few seconds. To me it seemed he did better under center. Just a thought.

I'm not worried....I assure you he will have more than 99 yards passing and we will lean on the run more.
